sidebar: many of you probably saw this article yesterday...
..in the article the authors slipped this paragraph in..
if you click on the link "had personally ordered plans" it goes to the New York Times article co-authored by, you guessed it, Adam Goldman.
besides being another story in the long false Russian conspiracy journalistic narrative of collusion, this story is particularly gross. CNN first peddled the story here: cnn.com/2019/09/09/pol…
..notice that Jim Sciutto infers that the President cannot handle classified information and that the intelligence community was worried about this - Jim slips in - growing more worried because of the 2017 IC Report and eventually extracted the spy..
please note that Brittany Bramell, the CIA director of public affairs, states, "Misguided speculation that the President's handling of our nation's most sensitive intelligence—which he has access to each and every day—drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate."
hmm... back to Goldman's article in NYT
he felt the need to slip in, "The decision to extract the informant was driven “in part” because of concerns that Mr. Trump and his administration had mishandled delicate intelligence, CNN reported."
back to Jim and the CNN report. "concerns grew in early 2017 after the US intelligence community released its public report on Russian meddling in the 2016 election, which said Putin himself ordered the operation"
hmm... "Details of the extraction itself remain secret and the whereabouts of the asset today are unknown to CNN." well, thank G-d I guess. but wait, how about we use are imagination and think about some alternative hypotheses..
..because of the Mueller and IG reports we now know (unclassified info) where the majority of the Putin “directed” information came from: George Nader (through Dmitriev), Sergei Millian (who was feeding info to everyone) and Christopher Steele..
imo there was no direct NSA SIGINT info confirming this and because of that NSA had *moderate confidence* in this conclusion as stated in the January 2017 ICA report.
notice that Brennan confirmed this analytical crystallization based on a array of information.
..imo, outside Adam Goldman and Jim Sciutto's spoon fed from anonymous officials "extracted asset story" the array of "Putin directed" information came from George Nader (through Dmitriev), Sergei Millian (who was feeding info to everyone), Christopher Steele..
..(it would not surprise me that while hobnobbing Clinton - who was getting info from Blumenthal and Fusion GPS - was spreading the news too).
which brings me to my alternative hypothesis: how about if there was no extracted asset? or, if there was an extracted asset it had nothing at all to do with the asset's knowledge of Russia interference in the election?
good time to recall this very important exchange.
I mean you have to ask yourself, if Jim and Adam are correct.. why has no one been arrested for disclosing such information? maybe the hint is found in Comey's words, “if all they have done is lie to a reporter, that's not against the law”
anyhow - full circle - to bad Jenna McLaughlin (@JennaMC_Laugh) and Zach Dorfman had to reference Adam's work (as @RealSLokhova reminded us Adam Goldman lies) overall I found their piece interesting.
