THE ABANDONED SUNNAH OF RECIPROCATING WHEN SOMEONE DO YOU A FAVOR

It is from the Sunnah that you should reciprocate the one who does you a favour.

The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) has enjoined that when he said:
“Whoever does you a favour, then reciprocate, and if you cannot find anything with which to reciprocate, then pray for him until you think that you have reciprocated him.”

[Recorded by Imaam Abu Dawood in his Mudnad and graded authentic by Sheikh al-Albaanee (RH)].
Commenting on Hadith no. 1496 in Riyaadus-Saaliheen, Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (RH) said:

“Reciprocation depends on the situation. With some people, reciprocation may be by giving him something similar to what he gave you, or more.
With others it may be by praying for him as he may not be pleased that you should reciprocate with money. This is because if a great man who has a lot of wealth and high status and honour among his people gives you something and you give him a similar gift,
he ll consider that to be diminution in his right. However, for such a person you should pray to Allaah for him. “And if you cannot find anything with which to reciprocate, then pray for him until you think that you have reciprocated him.”
Among the du’aa is for you to say to him, Jazaakallaahu Khayran. When he gives you something or benefits you with something, say to him, Jazaakallaahu Khayran, for you have done enough to thank him. That is because if Allaah the Most High rewards him with good,
that will bring him happiness in this world and in the Hereafter.”

Do good to people when they do good to you. If you can't do them any favor, say JAZAAKALLAAHU KHAYRAN (May Allah reward you with something good).

Every good & beneficial knowledge is from Allaah SWT, because He is the Creator & Initiator of all creations. No knowledge would have been possible without Him, because He is giver of such knowledge. As Muslims, we believe that we are created ONLY TO WORSHIP ALLAH.
This worship isn't something we were given the freewill to choose how to do, as Allaah Has given us the freewill to choose the right from the wrong, guidance from misguidance & truth from falsehood. The concept of worship however is, DO AS YOU ARE TOLD & do not innovate.

AN ABANDONED SUNNAH DURING RECITATION OF THE QURAN & OTHER ADHKAAR IN SALAAH

Imaam an-Nawawee (RH) said:

“… As for other than the Imaam, the Sunnah is to say the takbeer in a low voice regardless of whether the worshipper is following an Imaam or praying alone.
The minimum level of the low voice is that he should be able to hear himself provided he has a good hearing faculty & does not suffer from any hearing problems. This ruling is general and applies during the recitation of the Quran, saying Takbeer, Tasbeeh in Rukoo', Sujood,
during tashahhud, tasleem and du’aa whether in obligatory or voluntary prayer. Nothing will be rewarded in all of these acts unless the worshipper recites them in a low manner that he can hear himself.

MAKING OUR MARRIAGES WORK

The importance of the family, as an institution cannot be overemphasized. This is so obvious considering the fact that it is tiniest, yet most significant component of the society. Thus, Allaah Has given so much attention to the marriage institution.
Problems are bound to happen, but when they do, how do we handle them? Sometimes, instead of looking inwards to find solutions, we sit & trade blames, at the end leaving without solutions, rather worsening the situation. Our problems are ours, no one will solve it for us.
I still believe that it is hightime fathers of to-be husbands sit them down & talk them through the marriage in the light of Islam strictly not our culture. Every culture is fallible & do come with so many faults, but the laws of Allaah are perfect at all times.

One of the best things about the way the Holy Spirit still animates Scripture is how an ancient story you’ve heard since toddlerhood can pierce you again. This AM, Luke 10, the Good Samaritan. The players in the scene are left unnamed because their names change with every reader.
The players in the scene are also interchangeable. We’ll all get a chance to be each. Sometimes we’re the one robbed, beaten to a bloody pulp & left half dead, unable to help ourselves & wholly dependent on someone’s mercy. We hear foot-falls nearby. They pause then patter away.
Sometimes we’re the priest. Sometimes the Levite. Too important, too religious, in too big a hurry to stop. We, after all, are called to the many, not the one. Then again, this would make a great selfie. Tons of likes on Instagram. A good filter could really bring out the blood.

1/ Looking at the press, I strongly believe that if @Facebook wants its envisioned end-to-end unification of the #Messenger, #WhatsApp and #Instagram platforms to work, that it needs to dump #Onavo and kick it to the kerb.
2/ That said: I believe there's nuance — if competent people want to sign up for a service, even get paid for it, and it involves them being watched like lab rats and they are informed of this, then fine, go for it, knock yourselves out, enjoy the free service or the income.
3/ Mentally I put this sort of observation/monitoring stuff in much the same space as "Nielsen", and the primary disgust that people exhibit here is because "it's Facebook" — feel free to change my mind?

One of the Oracle's broad crystalline surfaces shimmered, and the useless translator cheerily displayed "LAUGH" on the small screen.
"Have you ever considered the cosmology of a goldfish?" came the voice from nowhere, in that perfectly human neutral voice. Showoff.
The Foundation spent millions and years building software to translate those iridescent flashes, trying to unlock the Oracle's knowledge. And then the first time it replied, it did so in fluent spoken English.
"Go ask the greatest scientist of a Goldfish: What is the universe?"
