Permit me to remind you this morning that it's day 2 of 366 in 2020.
You have spent the last few days or weeks planning, praying and prophecying into 2020, speaking things into existence and saying "I will secure the bag in 2020"

"I will blow in 2020" "my life must change in 2020" etc.
This morning I want to tell you that no shit will happen unless you get up and do something differently & taking actions towards them!

2020 doesn't come with auto-blessing and money. The only thing that will change this year is the dates on calendar and your age will move from 1 to 2.
Every other thing about your life will remain as it was in 2019 unless you get up and pursue your goals,

not only writing them down as "resolution" and stop before the end of February but setting practical steps that involves you working on them daily, weekly or monthly depending on the goal. You won't become that person you've always want to be just because it's 2020,

you will when you own your life and carry it on your head like your life depends on it... Cos it does!

I understand how easy it is to "plan" and write beautiful goals & resolutions but I also know how difficult it is to keep up after a month.
In 2019, I said I'll not miss a single Sunday service & even attend mid-week services. At the end of 2019 I attended Sunday service

only about 6-7 times. I'm not proud of this and I'll do better this year but I'm telling you to remind you that the fact that you wrote it and kept it in the middle of your bible doesn't mean it'll automatically happen.

God is a miracle worker not a magician 😂
So for the miracle to happen, work on it and let God bless it!

May I also remind you that God is not stingy with ideas? Whatever "unique" and multi million idea you think you have now, there are 10,000 other people thinking about it too so the secret is in taking action and the best time to start is now, right after reading this, get started

start sending the CV, start d saying culture, start d application, whatever it is you wanna achieve in 2020, the easiest way to get them done is to start today, start now.
I know many churches will start fasting soon, if you fast and not work, sooner or later you'll have ulcer.

Praying isn't enough in 2020 my friend, taking efforts & letting God is what works!

If you've been in my business group for a while, you must have learnt about the need for accountability partner. I did a series of training on this last year. Because it's difficult to write a goal and stay true to it, I advised having someone that share the same vision

or understands ur vision as ur accountability partner, this person can be ur spouse (if u're dating a reasonable somebody & not for what he/she have financially) someone can be beautiful or rich but don't see ur vision as real, don't make such person your accountability partner.

The person can be your father, mother, friend, mentor, etc.
Just make sure it's someone you trust that understands your vision. So make the person your accountability partner and share your roadmap with them, so at every point you give them your progress report and they help

you stay true to it. Because you know someone will ask you why you saved 1k instead of 2k, you may be more prudent with spending. Yes it's your money but because you're saving it for a cause, the person will keep reminding you and help you stay focused.

This applies to everything including business.

Now, accountability partner can still be a mentor but mentor doesn't necessarily have to be your accountability partner. Does it make sense to you? Read it again and this time slowly.
What I'm trying to say in case you didn't get it is, they are two different persons.

So the fact that you have A.P doesn't mean you shouldn't have a mentor because they play different roles. One can be a driver while the other can be an enabler depending on you.

But a mentor is always someone already doing successfully well in ur field while A.P can be from any field as long as they understand ur vision.
Get it ?

So get you a mentor that you study their model, process, ask what drives them.
Last year November, one of my mentors Mr @stephenakintayo was in town, whenever he's in Abuja, I make it a duty to pick him from the airport & make myself available for his service til he leaves.

That way I get to study him more and learn some things from him without him saying a word.
One day I was driving him after a very long day and he was telling me the things he want to do in 2020 and my mind was blown,

despite his tiredness that night, he said we will record a video when we get to his hotel, me that was tired. I couldn't say "oga let's leave it til tomorrow" cos he'll say I'm lazy 😫 so I used another method

"Sir, you have not eaten since and we've been working, I think we should eat and rest when we get to Sheraton" Baba replied "yes I'm hungry too, we will eat first then do the video after that" aye mi temi bami 🙆🏽‍♂🤣🤣

I then asked him "Sir, don't you get tired, how do you even cope, you travel different countries, arrived Nigeria and came straight to Abuja and next week you're going to Benin again" then his reply got me. He said "Emmanuel, first let's thank God for giving us good health,

if I'm not healthy, I won't be able to do these things, but that aside, if God shows you where he's taking you to, you'll be angry at your present status" oh Jesus!

He continued, whatever level you're operating on now is nothing compared to where he want you to be so when you see it, you won't be able to rest or sleep"

He went further to tell me a story about pastor David Oyedepo when at a particular Shiloh lost his voice and still continued to preach. He said Oyedepo had the option of siting down and asking Abioye to continue because he's been tested and trusted to do justice

but he continue himself because to him, he has signed and given himself to the gospel til death. He now said, that's a man that has seen where God is taking him to so despite the wealth, fame and everything, he can't afford to rest cos the glory is still bigger than now.

He concluded, that is why I can't rest or sleep and you shouldn't too"

That night I eventually got home past 12am but as I drove back home, those words were ringing in my head and I see the reason I can't afford to relax, if a man I followed that was buying house in Maitama talking millions and billions is saying he can't rest, who I be?

Can I shock you? The next morning before 6am I already saw messages from him telling me the things we need to do for that morning "oga kuku kill me na" 🤣🤣🤣 but you see the beauty in this? I was learning things that Mr Akintayo wouldn't say in a training class or

business gathering and that to me is the big win and why it's important to have a mentor.

Some folks when they make their first 1m they think they have arrived, forgetting that even having a mentor around you means you can leverage on their brand that is already established to grow yours.
I can't count how many deals I've done because those persons said

"I've seen you in one Akintayo's video before and if he can recommend you, then you're good"
What I enjoyed there wasn't my skill or my marketing abilities, it's simply leverage on an already established brand.
Let me end my unsolicited advise this morning with this last one.

2020 is a fresh and blank book, you can write it the story yourself starting from today.
Is it going to be easy? Of course not! But if you play your part diligently this year and not give up even when life hits you hard during the journey either your business didn't go as

planned or you have things going against your plan, if you stay true to it and not give up, heavens will smile on you in the end.
Also, this year, take responsibility for your failures. Remember you're not a failure until you blame someone else.
