The @nytimes is at it again. There was a big holiday, you may have been reveling, so may have missed it. But It's back to work for me and I have to talk about this. This cannot stand.

On Saturday--hours before the anti-Semitic terror attack in Monsey--Bret Stephens wrote a column that was egregiously anti-Semitic and a eugenicist's dream. I wrote about it in detail. The furor over the piece was immediate. But all the NYT did was issue this paltry addendum.

Stephens was not fired as Quinn Norton had been a mere 48hrs after links to previous writing much like Stephens' column was revealed.
And now there is this piece on Eddie Gallagher and really--what are we to think?

The @nytimes still does a lot of stellar reporting. Those most recent Pulitzer Prizes were largely deserved. But we cannot ignore the role the newspaper of record has had in enabling Trump and his cohort starting back in 2015. This is a real, identifiable and disturbing pattern.

@nytimes And now there is this stunner of a headline and a gobsnacking piece to go with it about Eddie Gallagher.

@nytimes I am not sure where people draw the line on these issues anymore. The goalposts of normalization have been moved so many times over the past three years, it's difficult to know what is a bridge to far. The newspaper of record has adopted a "very fine people on both sides" mantra.

@nytimes Eddie Gallagher should be a bridge too far. Eddie Gallagher should be where we all point and stare. Eddie Gallagher should be one person we all agree to make a pariah for life and vote off every island.
Eddie Gallagher is a monster.

@nytimes Trump's pardon of Gallagher epitomizes what is wrong with this president & this presidency. Gallagher should be in prison for life. He should not be in the general population. He is an exemplar of toxic masculinity & the dark road it can take some men down. Gallagher is a killer.

@nytimes Gallagher shot little girls who were wearing hijab. Their friends had to drag their bodies away. He tortured an injured but still living prisoner--video is available--then killed him, defiled the body and posed with it. His squad were horrified by his actions. There are tapes.

@nytimes The President of the United States has championed Gallagher, rejecting the Navy's pleas to stay out of it & not undermine military authority over its enlistees. Trump has treated Gallagher like a hero. He even invited him to Mar-a-Lago. And now the NYT is puff piecing him.

@nytimes I'm still able to be shocked & this is shocking. I watched the video of the killing. It was brutal. I don't care what that boy did, WE do not behave like rogue mercenaries. We don't torture & kill people on camera for fun. We don't shoot little girls deliberately for no reason.

@nytimes And we don't rehab monsters on the pages of the @nytimes. Or at least we shouldn't.

@nytimes Embracing the Trump narrative--nowhere in the headline or kicker is there reference to what Gallagher did. YOU ONLY GET CLEMENCY FOR CRIMES.

@nytimes Secretary of Defense Esper resigned over Gallagher, refusing to adopt the Trump narrative. Navy Secretary Spencer said Trump forced him to keep Gallagher in the SEALs. It is such an ugly, grotesque mockery of justice & there is the NYT doing a photo spread of Gallagher's clothes.

@nytimes If you want details of Gallgher's actions, this is testimony from his trial. He also shot an old man.

@nytimes Gallagher also went on @FoxNews without authorization where he referred to his superiors as "a bunch of morons."
But let's definitely preview his clothing line.

▪The Brig is Navy jail.
▪Gallagher didn't "leave" the SEALs--they were forced by presidential fiat to keep him until retirement.
▪Trump wants him to join his 2020 campaign A MAN WHO SHOT LITTLE GIRLS & OLD MEN FOR SPORT.
▪Et tu NYT?
