RWA has never come close to being the upstanding and love-inspired organization that I’d hoped I was joining back in 1993, but the events of the past week starting with the outrageous 12/23 attack of Courtney Milan have shocked

even jaded old me. As this nightmare drags on without proper leadership/staff resignations, without immediate apologies, and without outside assessments of the scope of the wrongdoing, the damage still being done by RWA’s current leadership—not just to RWA but to anyone
associated with it and anyone writing in the romance genre—is profound.
