An open letter to @museumofplay @UNILGameLab @MuseumModernArt @vgmuseum @Smithsonian @GameHistoryOrg and anyone else people tag who they think should hear this message, presented in the modern version of nailing a thesis to the door, that is, a twitter thread. HEAR YE HEAR YE 
There is a massive room at the 2020 Music and Games Festival (MAGfest) full of independent, often sole proprietorship game endeavors, staffed by the creators, providing access to their works.
I put to you all that you all, but at least some of you, reaching out to these nascent creators and future celebrities and beloved figures NOW, at the damn of their careers, and it will pay out a thousand fold!
This beautiful setup has now been photographed but not to a level it deserves; they are all making huge banners and generating promotional art and design documents and they may kerp them, but maybe won't
Why not start reaching out to them, even a handful, and say "Hi, real institution here, we want to give you 100% free lifetime storage if you agree to send us all your boxes of stuff on a regular basis, and do an occasional interview about it". Who won't leap at that!
There are people here who, in ten years, kids will be lining up at MAGFest and PAX for a chance to talk to them for a minute or two. There will also be people who will disappear and there will be a struggle to find a record of them.
There is a single revording Dani Berry which represented the main way most can hear her voice or know her thoughts. Imagine someone offered her free storage and interviews all her life.
There is a room full of Dani Berry, Steve Meretzky, Roberta Williams, and Will Wright downstairs and maybe you can save yourselves thousands of dollars bidding a chance over what they leave us in 50 years
