OPEN LETTER TO @RJC and @ZOA_National

Last night I discovered a truly reprehensible example of antisemitism from a far-Right Christian pastor and his website, TruNews.

Then I found out that TruNews is accredited as part of the @WhiteHouse press.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse I was incensed. It appears like the White House is condoning antisemitism by allowing these sick people in. And TruNews brags about being invited to WH events.

I tweeted this news to various reporters and pundits, but I especially wanted to tell you.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse The reason is because both the RJC and ZOA are fervent Trump supporters but also proud Jewish groups.

In 2017, both of you criticized @realDonaldTrump for not mentioning Jews in his Holocaust Day message.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump You, more than anyone, would have the clout with the @whitehouse and @presssec to ensure that vile antisemites are not honored as the normal press.

All I ask was that you tweet your disapproval.

But....silence.

This makes both you and @POTUS look very bad.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @PressSec @POTUS I don' t think Trump is an antisemite. I do believe that he tolerates antisemitism to an extent among his base. But TruNews changes the game. They are unrepentant, no doubt about it Jew haters. And now everyone knows it.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @PressSec @POTUS If you would point this out to Trump, he would listen - if you are convinced that he really cares about antisemitism.

The impression that your silence gives is that you are afraid he will ignore you and keep TruNews, and you are shielding him from that criticism by being quiet.6

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @PressSec @POTUS Which means that your silence not only gives the appearance of condoning TruNews, but also the appearance that you don't really believe that President Trump and his staff would act quickly to dissociate themselves from TruNews and its noxious hate.

This is very bad.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @PressSec @POTUS If you are truly proud Jews, a Florida pastor with tens of thousands of fans inciting them to a war against US Jews is so obviously something to condemn that there should be no hesitation.

Your hesitation, presumably in service of POTUS, hurts you and POTUS.

@RJC @ZOA_National @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @PressSec @POTUS Do the right thing. Use your influence to show outrage at TruNews and let the WH know that this group does not belong there.

If there is no response, then perhaps Trump isn't who you (or I) think he is.

You have a chance to do the right thing. Doing nothing is the wrong choice.
