"Baby", Yoongi whines, missing the younger's warmth next to him. "What are you doing?"
Taehyung looks up, happily grinning at his boyfriend.
"You could've woken me up to help",
"But you looked so sweet while asleep, I didn't have the heart to wake you." Taehyung softly runs his hands through Yoongi's hair. He sighs at the comforting gesture.
They had dreamed about going to Hawaii ever since Taehyung's first year at college, when they had watched a nature documentary about the island together. Long before they had even fallen in love. And now it had become reality.
"I'm so happy we were able to this together", Yoongi says, smile evident in his voice. It's rare for him to voice his emotions out loud like this and Taehyung appreciated the effort.
"Of course", Yoongi answers, sitting up to be at the same face level with Taehyung. "Are you scared of going back?"
"I know. It's like when you're going back to school after the break. It's okay to feel like this." He leans in closer and presses a kiss to Taehyung's cheek.
"It's okay", Yoongi repeats and peppers Taehyung's face with little kisses until he smiles again.
Miyeon hands over his two containers with soup and Taehyung hands her the money. He's about to turn around but unfortunately at the same time as the handsome stranger next to him.
"Oh shit!" Is all he hears before they knock against each other.
"Fuck, oh my God! I'm so sorry." He looks up to see the flushed face of the boy staring at him in shock. "This is all my fault, I should've been more careful!"
He holds them up to Taehyung. "I'm so sorry", he says again but Taehyung only shakes his head.
"Ah but your shirt is ruined and I feel like it's my fault."
Taehyung shakes his head smiles reassuringly.
"But... you can't go out like this", he's completely flustered now, obviously hella uncomfortable with the situation.
"But...", Taehyung starts, but the boy interrupts him.
"Please, let me do this. I'll feel less bad."
"Okay. Alright."
The boy is about to say more but Miyeon interrupts them.
"Taehyungie, your new soup is ready." She hands the container over with a smile.
Outside there's this small moment, that's always there when it comes to parting ways with an almost stranger.
"Ah the other way for me", the boy says with an awkward grin.
"I'll text you about the cleaning I guess." Taehyung's still not fully comfortable with letting him pay for it.
"You too, Taehyung-ssi." The boy's smile widens before he turns around and leaves down the crosswalk.
"What a weird kid", he mumbles to himself before taking of towards their home, the wet, dirty shirt sticking to his skin under the jacket.
~meanwhile Jungkook:
Fucking Taehyung. He can't believe he's doing this. Normally he'd never talk to a stranger, hell he doesn't even wanna speak to him now but what Taehyung wants, Taehyung gets.
If he only knew how.
"Hi."
"Hi?", he squeaks, causing Yoongi to grin. He really looked like a scared little animal.
"Aah... I'm sorry for jusy approaching you like this",
The boy, because looking at him now, Yoongi realises that he must still be really young, blinks rapidly.
"Ahem... I... aah."
"Oh no, you didn't!", the boy answers.
"I mean aah... yeah we've met before."
The boy nods hesitantly.
"You wanted to sign up your dog right?" He knows he's teasing but again, he finds it pretty amusing how the guy is reacting to it.
Yoongi tilts his head, a small smile on his face. "Can I ask you something? I've been curious about it since then..."
"Sure...", he mumbles.
The boy almost drops a bag of chips at the question, before he looks down, seemingly ashamed.
"No."
The boy shakes his head, biting down on his bottom lip.
"Aah you don't have to tell me, if you don't want", he then adds.
"I don't really know why I did it to be honest", the boy admits then and Yoongi knows there's more to it but he doesn't want to pry.
Yoongi shakes his head. He wishes Taehyung was here, he's better with social matters. They would have already been friend by now. All Yoongi had managed so far was interrogate him and make him uncomfortable.
The boy nods. "I moved to Seoul a few months ago to visit med-school. But I don't go out much, I don't really know anyone yet..."
New beginnings are never easy.
Yoongi lets out an amused laugh. "Fun night planned?"
The boy's - Jungkook's - face turns slightly sad. "Ah not really. I just finished a really long shift at the hospital and got hungry.
He motions at the wine in Yoongi's arms. "You?"
"Oh yeah! Me and my friends are having a movie night... which reminds men that I should really get back to them." He frowns.
He hasn't really managed to befriend the guy like Taehyung wanted but Yoongi really needs to go back before Namjoon loses his mind being the only sane person there.
"Likewiese. And who knows? Maybe we'll meet again soon, Jungkook-ah", Yoongi says in form of a good bye.
It's a warm smile, one like the sun, one that hits you somewhere in your chest and makes your whole body tingle.
Huh.
How weird.
Yoongi decided not to think too much about it.
It takes everything for the latter to keep their drinks steady and not drop them.
Yoongi leans back in his chair, watches as Seokjin tells Namjoon about their day. His arms are heavy and his shoulders hurt from carrying all those backs of make up and holding up
He picks it up and sees that it's from Taehyung. A smile spreads over his face.
"Do you even have to ask?", Seokjin just answers before picking up his coffee and rolls his eyes.
"Jealousy causes you get wrinkles." Seokjin mock gasps and reaches up to smooth out his face. Then he grins.
"Hmm don't think I have any!"
It's during Seokjin extended explanation about the importance of carnivorous plants to the ecosystem when Yoongi notices something.
"Jungkook?", Yoongi can't help but call out his name.
"Hyung!"
Though Jungkook looks different today. The last time Yoongi had seen him he had looked like a broke college student, wearing worn down hoodies and sweatpants, his hair an unkempt mess. Now though, he was in clean black pants and a white dress shirt,
Yoongi feels a weird kind of pressure in his chest, almost as if he can't breathe and for a moment he wonders if there might ne hazelnut in his coffee
"Wait... you work here?", Yoongi asks when Jungkook comes to stand next to their table. "Then you know Namjoon?"
"Oh ah..."
"Y...yeah? We're friends."
Yoongi frowns in wonder, looking back and forth between Jungkook and Namjoon.
Yoongi shrugs. "He uhm... we met a few times. He's the guy from the grocery store, remember?
"Oh."
"Oh!"
He points at Jungkook. "You're the one form Namjoon's twitter bio!"
Jungkook nods, enthusiastically. As if he's proud to be of some importance to someone.
Seokjin clears his throat next to Yoongi. "Excuse me, gentlemen but could one of you be so kind to tell me what's going on here?"
Yoongi points at Jungkook again. "He's the one who's fault it is that Namjoon is constantly the verge of a
Recognition flashes across Seokjin's face. "Oooh! Nice one kid!" He holds his hand up for Jungkook to high-five him, which the younger eventually does with a confused but smug look on his face.
Cute.
Jungkook looks away, rubbing his neck nervously. "Sometimes..."
What follows is a long lecture by Yoongi about how he has to take better
They order more coffee and before Yoongi notices, it's almost six o'clock.
His owner puts down the phone, excusing himself after his new friend had finished his rant
He has spend the last hour putting away all the romantic stuff, the halfdone food, to prepare it some other day and instead ordered pizza.
He had showered, changed his tight pants, silk shirt and choker to a hoodie and sweat pants.
And he had listened to Kook talk, very enthusiastically, about his favourite Marvel heroes.
He didn't want to think about it.
"Hey", Taehyung says, leaning against the door frame.
The older looks up at that. His eyebrows are drawn together, eyes hooded with guilt.
He stands up and walks over towards Taehyung. The younger holds his hands out for Yoongi to take.
'There's no arguing as long as there's hand-holding.'
He smiles tiredly, eyes fond.
"I had to run all the way from Rose Garden because the tram wouldn't come in under 30 minutes..."
He lets go of Yoongi's hands, reaching up to cup his face instead. His cheeks are cold and flushed red. That's right, it had been a particular
"It's not your fault hyung. We can still make the best of tonight, yah?"
Yoongi nods weakly. He leans in against Taehyung's chest.
"Everything's good now", Yoongi sighs. "Have everything I need now."
Taehyung chuckles. Of course Yoongi has missed him just as much.
"What's with the hoodie?"
Yoongi groans. "That's Jin hyung's new merch... he made us wear matching ones for his video."
Yoongi nods. "Probably."
His speech is getting more slured and Taehyung is afraid that he'll fall asleep in a second.
Yoongi nods. "Yeah. I'd like that."
Yoongi is barely keeping his eyes open as he nibbles on his piece of pizza. He looks so cute and soft Taehyung feels like crying.
As long as it's like this, he thinks, as long as he can fall asleep with Yoongi in his arms, feeling so full with love, it won't matter how bad the day had been.
Instead of turning right where the street would lead the back home, Yoongi kept waking straight.
"We're taking the bus?"
"Hmm."
"Yoongiii", Taehyung whines. "What are we doing? What is this for?"
Yoongi just shrugs, earning a frustrated sigh.
They step out onto the cobblestone plastered square. It's almost dark now but the streetlamps are illuminating the space and the old building surrounding it.
"What are the doing here? Of all places?"
Yoongi opens his mouth to answer but Taehyung interrupts him. "A surprise yeah, I get it."
Yoongi grins. They are really standing next to the gates of the university they attended until four years ago. The campus is a bit farer out of town which is why they had to take the bus to reach it.
Yoongi holds his hand out for Taehyung to hold again. Taehyung chews on his bottom lip and frowns but lets himself be pulled along nevertheless.
He smiles at the memory. About how they all had written their names there before graduating, among thousands of other graduates.
"You'll see, baby. Just a minute now."
As much as he loved the puppy center he had with his boyfriend, he missed this.
The girl, Minji who had sat next to him was walking along the corridor with him was excitedly talking about how they'd be
Then a hand tapped against his shoulder and a soft voice called out his name.
He turned around and met eyes with non other than the cute guy from the Cafe.
"Kookie?"
His cute face split into a grin.
"Oh." Taehyung shrugs, mimicking his happy smile. "I'm taking an elective work shop here."
Taehyung shakes his head. He's really looking so adorable with his messy hair and wide grin. The red hoodie and round glasses he's wearing both way to large for him.
"I don't know, Kook, I think that's sounds very interesting."
He shakes his head. "Only because you don't have to take them and listen to Professor Lan all day who is like 100 years old and speaks with the heaviest Chinese accent!
They just stare at each other and Taehyung finds himself again thinking about how absolutely adorable the younger looks. He really should ask him to come to the shop sometimes
"Say hyung..." He steps awkwardly from foot to foot. "You don't know anyone here, right? Ahem... would you maybe like to have lunch with me?
He's blushing in the cutest way possible and Taehyung can't help but nod excitedly.
"Of course! I would love to!"
He pulls on a soft, light blue cashmere sweater, one which was way more expensive than necessary but Yoongi loved how Taehyung looked in it so he made sure to wear it as often as possible.
"Tae? Why are you dressed already?" He turns to look at their kitchen clock, checking the time. It's only 7.20.
Taehyung walks over, wrapping his arms around Yoongi's neck.
"I'm meeting up with the cute soup guy for coffee before the work shop."
Taehyung nods excitedly. "Yeah, I met him again yesterday. He apparently attends that uni." He frowns "Haven't I told you yesterday?"
He presses another kiss to Taehyung's bottom lip.
"Tell me more about it when you come back tonight?", Yoongi mumbles between kisses.
Taehyung nods. "And you tell me about your afternoon with Namjoon's
Yoongi snorts. "I will yeah." He entangles himself from Taehyung but can't resist to press a last kiss to his cheek. "Now go before you miss your bus!"
At the sound of the door, Jungkook turns around, a relieved look on his face.
"Hyung! You're finally here!"
Felix gasps. "Nothing?"
Jungkook just shakes his head, taking a step towards Yoongi
"No, he was nice. I'm just shy", he mumbles not meeting Yoongi's eyes.
"We can eat in the backroom", be decides. "Felix you got everything here?"
The younger man nods, taking the sandwich which Yoongi hands him. "Of course hyung, thank you for the food!"
"You coming?"
"A..ah yes", he stutters and runs after Yoongi. He follows the older to the door which leads to the back.
"This is our break room basically and there to the right are the play rooms for the dogs.
"Woah!"
Yoongi chuckles at his honest reaction.
"Yeah", Yoongi admits and he can basically feel thay dreamy look that he always gets when talking about Tae. "I don't know how he manages all of the organisational stuff. I'm useless with that."
