Defiance is a Spectrum (THREAD)

I see some Bitcoin content creators (@PeterMcCormack) that argue Bitcoin will just grow to billions of users without them ever validating or coinjoining their coins. I am arguing that if users don't do this then the Bitcoin experiment has failed:

When Bitcoin was invented for the first 4-5 years most the people involved were cypherpunks. They all understood the importance of self-sovereignty and valiantly opposed the NYA agreement and the S2X attack. This showed the importance of users taking maters in their own hands!

But 2017 brought into the industry many normies and new content creators and most of them are not cyperpunks. Most of them are used with the nice apple phones and easy-to-use internet banking apps that offer them everything on a plate. The nanny-state got them nice and cozy.

But Bitcoin will never be abstracted away. You have on one side easy-to-use tools and on the other you have security. You can't have both.
In order to do Bitcoin, you have to do security more.
You can not abstract away a full-node. It's the extra cost of having self-sovereignty!

And in order to change the current system at one point the day of reckoning will come! At one point the states will demand exchanges and all companies to use the "Legal and KYC version of Bitcoin" because "terrorism and money laundering" and maybe also a bit of "state inflation"

The day of reckoning will come and either all users will oppose those changes or Bitcoin will fail!
People will have to oppose modification to what "Bitcoin" means but also do coinjoins or mine in secret or pay higher fees if states try to PoW censor:

So Defiance is a spectrum.
Just like decentralization is a spectrum you can not know how resistant the system is unless you attack it!
We either breed defiance in the present and future users or Bitcoin will not resist the guaranteed future attacks!
