I handled murder cases for 22 of my 30 years as a prosecutor. Everything I’ve seen thus far is more consistent w/ homicide rather than suicide - all bolstered by Barr running to the cameras before the body was cool telling us to take his word for it that Epstein killed himself.
A legitimate Attorney General would NEVER have made a public statement like that - announcing a finding of “suicide” before the investigation had even commenced. The only thing the DOJ should have said is, “Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell...
and we will have no further comment pending completion of an investigation.” Barr’s rush to try to convince the public that Epstein killed himself makes his statement transparent propaganda, IMO.

Re: Epstein-The evidence from the autopsy (limited though it is at this point) looks more consistent w/a homicide than a suicide. Plus, you don’t need to cover-up a suicide. They would have preserved the CORRECT camera footage if it helped support the suicide claim. They didn’t.
But for me, one of the biggest tells was Barr running to the cameras before the body was even cool to poison the American well by saying Epstein killed himself. NEVER would any responsible AG or law enforcement official announce that conclusion ...
before the investigation had even commenced. Kinda like Barr falsely tell us Mueller found no obstruction, no collusion. Barr’s mantra continues to be: clear Trump first, “investigation” second (if at all).

Thanks Michael. There was much more to say. I could not believe I watched two DOJ lawyers make arguments, some supportable others frivolous, but ALL intended solely to cover up presidential crimes, abuses and corruption. This is the antithesis of what DOJ should be arguing.
They argue that you can’t indict a sitting president (courtesy of a BS DOJ memo) because they say the sole Constitutional remedy to dislodge a criminal president is impeachment. Then they turn around and argue that Congress can’t have the testimony or documents necessary ...
to prove Trump committed impeachable offenses. The DOJ is making arguments that damage, not promote, the rule of law. They make arguments designed to assist the president in covering-up his crimes. They they make arguments directly against the intererests of the American people.

1) They have the votes. EVERYTHING we have seen thus far about who’s a yes and who’s a no is wishcasting and wild inferences. Everything is kabuki theatre, just breathless coverage trying to be the first to tweet about the latest twist in the reality show.
2) Fact: the only two ever up in the air were Collins and Murkowski. McConnell moved ahead because he secured one or both of their yes votes.
3) Flake is a smarmy shit, yes, but he is considered one of the 5 most conservative senators by the left. Flake has NEVER opposed Trump on votes where it counts. Obamacare repeal? He was a yes. Gorsuch? Yes. Tax reform? Yes.
