Bolton told Fiona Hill, a National Security Council aide, to notify the chief lawyer for the National Security Council about the effort by Sondland, Rudy Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer, & Mick Mulvaney, the acting WH chief of staff, to push Ukraine to investigate Democrats.
Bolton, a Yale-trained lawyer, also told Fiona Hill to tell WH lawyers that Bolton was "not part of whatever drug deal Sondland and Mulvaney are cooking up."

Sometime in August, Bolton met w/ Pres Trump to try to persuade Trump to release the $391M in aide to Ukraine, according to Timothy Morrison, a senior National Security Council aide.
So Trump says Bolton would "know nothing" but it is clear Bolton knows a lot.
