Trump's "presidential spiritual advisor" is literally selling hate in the name of Jesus. For a $229 "donation," the "superior blood" of Jesus will help you achieve victory over your "enemies."

Is this what Christianity is now? Is this what govt. is now? deadstate.org/trumps-spiritu…
And you know by "superior blood," they mean "white blood," even though Jesus was never white. For these racist extremist Christians, he is. They're pushing a white Christian "nationalism" that is damn scary.
It's sad what they've done to Christianity. I'm no fan of religion - organized religion is dangerous.

But I grew up Christian & admire Jesus as a spiritual leader who preached tolerance, helping others, forgiveness & compassion. Their Jesus helps you get revenge - for a fee.
You gotta give her credit for one thing - she understands Trump voters.

She's not offering Jesus' help to heal sickness or create world peace or protect families. She's offering his help to achieve vengeance on your enemies. She gets them.
Grifters like this should be charged with fraud & jailed. I've seen psychics charged with fraud for carrying out the exact same con without invoking Jesus, but these far-worse conmen get away with it.
What's disturbing for me about GOP is I can't always tell which extremist religious nutjobs are lying hypocrites using religion merely for votes (as televangelists use it to get rich) & which are true believers in their apocalyptic Trumpian cult.

True believers scare me more.
My guesses on Bible-thumpers:

Rubio - lying Bible-quoting hypocrite
Pence - true nutjob & scary
Pompeo - true nutjob & scary
Huckabee (both) - lying hypocrites
Cruz - lying hypocrite
Barr - true nutjob & extremely dangerous
Trump - lying hypocrite & dangerous as fuck
This video shows one of the smarmiest televangelists ever, answering questions about his need for a private jet to better do God's work because he says commercial aircraft are full of demons.

I felt my skin crawl watching him talk. He is THAT disgusting.
When asked about scripture on chances of rich people getting into heaven ("easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God"), he smirks & says "all things are possible with God." It's clear he's proud of that one.
Here's the biggest religious con-job of them all - the founding of the anti-abortion movement.

US Christians didn't care much about abortion until the "Moral Majority" cynically used the issue to rally voters to defeat Carter. Wanna know their REAL issue?
politico.com/magazine/story…
"Both before and for several years after Roe, evangelicals were overwhelmingly indifferent to the subject, which they considered a “Catholic issue.”

In 1968, a symposium sponsored by the Christian Medical Society & Christianity Today, refused to characterize abortion as sinful..
...They cited “individual health, family welfare & social responsibility” as justifications for ending pregnancy.

Yes, you heard it right. They weren't opposed.

When Roe decision came down, W.A. Criswell, one of the most famous fundamentalists of 20th century—was PLEASED...
He noted, “I have always felt that it was only after a child was born and had a life separate from its mother that it became an individual person & it has always, therefore, seemed to me that what is best for the mother & for the future should be allowed.”

So what changed?
Well, let's put it this way - the REAL issue is one that makes it now clear why Trump's base is both Evangelical & white supremacist:

"The anti-abortion crusade was more palatable than the religious right’s real motive: protecting segregated schools."
That's right - Evangelical leaders were upset they couldn't have an all-white university. They created a furor over abortion as a way of rallying people to form the "Moral Majority" with the goal of acquiring more political muscle.
All of a sudden, an issue Evangelicals had barely talked about or cared about became subject of passionate preaching.

I mean the leaders couldn't come out & just SAY, "hey, let's unite so we can elect those who will let us be racist & have all-white schools."
This doesn't mean today's Evangelicals don't really care about abortion. They do.

But that passionate opposition to abortion isn't because the Bible condemns it. It's an issue their leaders hypocritically pushed as a way to incite them & give them a cause to rally behind.
What DOES Bible say about abortion?

Nothing. 600+ laws in there - not one mentions abortion. Now you might say - well, that's because it didn't exist then. Oh, it did. Women have found means to end pregnancies since pregnancies happened.
According to the Bible, life doesn't begin at conception. It begins when the baby is born & draws it's first breath. Numerous passages define life as "breath," including the one where God breathes life into Adam.
I should have said "Evangelicals" or "Protestant Christians" here instead of "Christians." Catholics, of course, did have a problem with abortion before this time.
I could go on, but I don't want to get into a debate over abortion here. I merely want to point out how hypocritical GOP have used religion as a means of gaining political power. Party of "family values" has shown us their true colors & what they value isn't family, or God.
