Short thread about why I believe in @ewarren:

On a campaign, there are three cardinal resources: time, money, and people. Only time is finite. How a candidate/campaign chooses to deploy these resources (especially time) says a whole lot about them and their vision.
Money is soooo important to be able to run a strong campaign, especially in this crazy long primary. Traditionally, most candidates spend the majority of their time speaking to wealthy donors to make sure they have the funds to keep going. (2/)
This means that they spend their long drives on the phone, calling name after name and asking people to “max out” (make the maximum donation allowed by campaign finance law, which is $2800 per section season). (3/)
Now back to Warren: she chose to do things differently. By choosing not to allow wealth folks to buy any extra access to her with their money, she has made a huge values statement—all Americans, regardless of their situation, should have an equal shake in this country. (4/)
This means that single parents, young people, working folks, the elderly—EVERYONE—can get their moment to share with her what matters to them. Everyday, @ewarren hears from people all across this country about the problems they face and how government can help. (5/)
This has huge consequences! Her entire platform (all those delicious, juicy plans!!) is the fruit of this labor. All her plans add up to big, structural change that will make government a force for progress, helping folks seize opportunity to live better lives. (6/)
Taking on D.C. corruption means that Americans won’t have to fight off massive corporations or entrenched interest groups to have their voices heard by their representatives (7/)

The consequences of this plan alone are as massive as the issues that matter to us:
- advocating for responses to the climate crisis!
- protecting the right to choose with Congressional action!
- Medicare for All!
- keeping us out of unnecessary wars!
(8/)
Another one of my favorite plans is Universal Child Care! The barriers to finding and affording quality childcare are holding women back from achieving their potential all across this country. This would be such a huge boost for gender equality! (9/) medium.com/@teamwarren/my…
The details in these plans are insane—most take over 20 minutes to read through. These details matter because they tell me how seriously @ewarren takes the issues that matter to our country, and how seriously she would take her job as president. (10/)
One of my favorite parts of her plans is how conscious she is of ensuring justice for ALL folks with her plans:
- disabled folks: medium.com/@teamwarren/pr…
- indigenous communities: medium.com/@teamwarren/ho…
- women of color: medium.com/@teamwarren/va…
(10/)
I really believe in this woman. I believe because she has shown me that she is willing to spend that most valuable resource—time—on getting to know everyday Americans, even when they can’t offer money (another crucial resource). (11/)
I believe because her plans show time and time again that she is thoughtful, brilliant, empathetic, caring, strong, and so observant. I love how she identifies a problem, goes to the heart of it, and figures out a way to solve it. (12/)
I believe because she’s freaking inspiring. Every time she gets down on one knee and asks a young girl to pinky promise her, she reminds us all that she’s running for president because that’s 👏🏻 what 👏🏻 girls 👏🏻 do. (13/)
I believe because she’s a fighter, and we really need one. (14/)
