1. The Prime Minister's pre-Budget meeting with economists, business leaders and industry experts hit all the right notes – India has strong fundamentals and it's a matter of time before the economy bounces back.
2 Corporate earnings season is here as India Inc starts to unveil its December quarter numbers. While the corporate tax rate cut may give profit a leg-up, the overall demand slowdown is expected to keep revenue under strain.

4.WPI based inflation print for December will be out on Tuesday. The forecast for the month is 1 percent. Wholesale prices rose by 0.58 %in November 2019, up from 0.16 percent in October. It was the highest since August as cost of vegetables rose faster and fuel prices fell less.
5. Keeping in mind the steep goods and services tax (GST) collection target for 2019-20, Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey will hold a day-long meeting with tax commissioners on January 14 to discuss ways for streamlining the GST system and plug fraud-related leaks.
6. Trump to sign 'phase one' trade deal: A partial new US-China trade agreement will be signed in the middle of next month, US President Donald Trump has said, announcing that he will then travel to China for continued talks
7. January 16 is the date for next hearing of the alleged tax evasion cases registered by the Income Tax Department against Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and his son Raninder Singh. The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) P S Kaleka will hear the arguments.
8. China economy grew at 6 %the September quarter of 2019, from 6.2 %in the previous quarter, amid persistent trade tensions with the US, weakening global demand and alarming off-balance-sheet borrowings. The numbers for the fourth quarter of 2019 are scheduled for Thursday.
9. India will launch a heavy communication satellite Gsat-30 on January 17 from Kourou space centre in French Guiana on board an Ariane-5 rocket of the European Space Agency (Arianespace). That is expected to improve the way India communicates, going forward.
10. A new Tejas Express will be running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad from January 17, the Western Railway said. Regular runs of the train will start from January 19. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will be the second private train in the country, operated by the IRCTC
