THREAD: Good morning for the midnight shift crew! While you were sleeping, the forecast remained largely on track. This thread will discuss the latest details on lowland snow potential, gusty Fraser Outflow winds up north, and COLD that's coming our way! #wawx
Lowland rain will transition to snow from north to south this afternoon - evening. Most places will at least see some flakes but accumulations will vary. Highest amounts expected across the north and under a possible Puget Sound Convergence Zone. #wawx
Puget Sound Convergence Zone, you say? Here's what we know and don't know about that possibility this afternoon or evening! Details likely won't be refined until it forms so stay tuned for updates today! #wawx
As we all know around here, it doesn't take much snow in the lowlands for travel conditions to go downhill quickly. Please check @WSDOT road conditions before you go at wsdot.com/traffic and SLOW DOWN if you encounter snow on the roadways! #wawx
Cold Canadian air will spill down from the Fraser River Valley today into Monday! Gusty northeast winds with gusts of 45-60 mph are likely across western Whatcom and San Juan counties. Power outages & tree damage possible. Windy at the coast too. #wawx
Last but not least, COLD temperatures arrive tonight and stick around through mid-week. Prolonged period of below freezing temperatures expected. With very cold wind chills up north. Prepare now! #wawx
That's a wrap from the midnight shift. Next shift arrives soon and will update throughout the day! Feel free to tweet us reports, pictures, & videos! They'll be very helpful to our operations today. -Courtney & Mike
