Visited a Delhi construction site this morning.

Reactions of masons, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, supervisors, civil engineers to #ShaheenBagh

- Horror at sloganeering & the open hate. Kaafiron se Azaadi, Hinduon se Azaadi...!

- Shock at Hindu, Sikh participation.
- Certain that AAP, Congress are paying, fuelling the entire event.

- Ek ghar jaati hai pani bharne, saas ko behtha jaati hai. Dono ko milte hai ₹500, khaana, razai, aaraam.

- Ek bhi patrakaar samajhata nahi hai. Bus mic le ke bhardkate rehete hain.
- Anger at the inconvenience of closed routes in the area.

- Question: why this panic when CAA has nothing to do with citizenship ? Have they inadvertently exposed the fact that so many might be here illegally ? ... thus depriving us of a livelihood...?
- We were desperate for change during UPA & fell for Anna Hazare & subsequently Kejriwal
but when it’s a matter of Dharm & Desh, we recognise deshdrohis.
Jinnah wali Azaadi ?!?
- Congress has done what it always does best. Divided us.

- Now we know what they feel & think. They want Pakistan for Muslims but India should not be a home for even persecuted Hindus.

- Dilli will not be the same.

- I can no longer fix cabinets posts.
Practically no terror attacks & no sensitive information to pass on. I’ve lost my star status 😢

- No one takes me seriously after MSG. The less said about my spouse the better.
- I have a stable of pedestrian writers but they’ve all been called out. Since my piece de resistance of one foggy winter night things haven’t looked good at all.

- My colour coordinated gamcha & my lazy voiced lawyer friend have lost our touch, it seems
- My boyfriend is locked up.

- From communist/atheist to a demure (I try) head covered Bibi I’ve been keeping count of the days we’ve been denied the internet but no one is listening.

zainul had told me that the spirit of women at #ShaheenBagh keeps him going. he said the women have remained silent for long despite the many injustices and have endured it but now that they are speaking up his hunger strike is his way of extending unconditional support to them.

Today, I will try my hand at live tweeting insights from "A #Home of One's Own", a two-day #researchworkshop on socially & economically #marginalised women's experiences of and negotiations with #genderinequalities in #informalurbanhousing in India.
This workshop has been organised by #JadavpurUniversity (School of Women's Studies), #RabindraBharathiUniversity (Centre for Women's Studies) and #Parichiti, a women's organisation. All three are research partners on a #GCRF project funded by @GoldsmithsUoL.
Since Oct 2018, I have collaborated with Dr. Henrike Donner, who is leading it, to develop #researchcollaborations with #educational and #development organisations in India to implement a pilot study on #genderurbanhousing. This workshop marks the end of the first phase.

I know we think of R Kelly as a monster and while his case is rather extreme, make no mistake, paedophilia & attendant perversions are not uncommon. Let me tell you, as a Nigerian girl, you discover very early that a staggering number of men are attracted to pre-pubescent girls.
Men, these are not some distant strange creatures. They are your brothers, cousins, uncles, best friends, fathers, security guards, school bus drivers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, colleagues, bosses, tailors, doctors, lawyers. You are surrounded by them. And so are we.
You can deny it all you want, but a LOT of men are paedophiles. A shocking number. Just ask the Nigerian women around you. Ask them how old they were when an adult man first tried to talk to them. Ask them how old they were when they were first groped.

As you can see the flood hit areas in Kerala, they are all rich, almost all. Only 10% may be poor.
They don't need any help in cash or kind.
Please stop sending food or other things.
Security forces are doing the needful.
All they need is labour force, once the water recedes.
Kerala has no labours, though they pay high wages.
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, masons, domestic helpers are needed urgently by Keralites.
Commies & Kerala Govt are begging for funds for their own luxuries.
Most of the development in Kerala is done by common people.
Even the International airports are the contribution of common citizens in Kerala.
