Conducting analyses or doing data journalism without posting the raw data used in the analysis is wild to me. Either you’re not confident about the findings of your analysis or you’re not actually all that interested in your work being useful.
I’ve seen so many articles where reporters got access to a treasure trove of police or criminal justice data and then just wrote an article about it, with limited utility, while refusing to share any of the underlying data which would be of *immense* value to local organizers.
At minimum, do your records requests on a public platform like muckrock.com so the source data/documents can be accessible to communities, researchers, data scientists etc.
