What I really ❤ about @BlackWomxnFor's endorsement of @ewarren is that if the candidate has made prior public stmts that diverge from the group's values, the group's integrity compels it to speak up w/o equivocation, hair splitting, or trying to justify the unjustifiable. /1
None of these Dem primary candidates or politicians are perfect & none of them will save us. We will save ourselves w/ assistance from whomever we send to the White House, whomever we send to the school board & whomever we send to work for us in every elected office between. /2
We honor ourselves when we select a candidate who shares our values, who we believe is best positioned to lead w/ those values centered, & who we believe is most committed to being held to account when her words or actions diverge from those shared values. /3

1. when we admit that our preferred candidate has flaws, has gaps in understanding, or makes comments that diverge from our values;
2. when we speak up abt it when it; &
3. when we hold the candidate accountable for his words & actions. /4

The candidate honors us when she makes a commitment to listen, learn, & be held accountable and then actually listens, learns, & evolves. /5
I would invite everyone who has a preferred candidate to really reflect on your candidate's flaws and gaps in understanding, on what you will do to acknowledge those gaps when they come up, and on whether your candidate is willing to be held accountable. 6/6
