ONLY biological purpose of pain is to ALERT the being to stop & possibly eliminate pain immediately or gradually (reduced activity over time)
or can’t be fixed meaning instant or gradual death (wounded being dies slowly or picked off from the herd)

those supporting catastrophizing (other than outright falsehoods, exaggerations - nothing on this list) are looking for simplistic answers to sweep some of us under the rug that we’re not tough enough (we are) or cookie cutter medical cases (we aren’t)
my truth to these “questions of agenda” 
workable solutions are realistic & accept hard truths (many of us don’t get better, medicine 🚫 cure all), include coping skills (= pricey time-consuming therapy), social support and reasonable unencumbered access to pain meds, accept UNIQUE experience of the individual...

a story:
in 1988/9, my psychologist introduced me to a friend
he was drunk & ended up paralyzed
i was hit by a drunk driver
by then i had forgiven my drunk driver
she was 17, i was 22
i had driven drunk, i was just lucky

i had minimal work credits, i got SSD (well below poverty level)
i also sued those who served my drunk driver, got settlement to supplement
my friend, he got SSI, no settlement & struggled
we’ve had two lives
but we are both disabled
no one more worthy than the other
