The letter is kindergarten-level lawyering, but I'll say, I'm still annoyed the articles' *titles* didn't allege crimes when their *elements* do: Abuse of Power➡️Bribery; Obstruction of Congress➡️Obstruction of Justice. The Dems *let* Trump play this game. thehill.com/homenews/admin…
1/ Media has an obligation—which it is failing—to note that the articles *do* allege prima facie statutory crimes, and that all Trump or his cronies are claiming is that the *titles* of the articles don't allege *statutory* crimes (they most certainly allege constitutional ones).

TRUTH: "The articles' titles allege *constitutional* crimes and the articles' *texts* allege constitutional *and* statutory crimes."

3/ But it's even worse than that, as of course the *GOP* is already on record as calling Abuse of Power a constitutional crime and Obstruction a constitutional crime. Ask *any* GOP senator—*right now*—if they think the articles against Clinton were "unlawful."

I find it hard to expend any energy responding to the Trump defense team's impeachment memo because it's legally and factually empty—it's political rhetoric based on a pathological denial of testimonial and documentary evidence. It's a joke—it's beneath attorneys to "analyze" it.
I'm serious here. The Ukraine scandal documents—just the public ones—now number in the thousands and thousands of pages, and Trump's defense just acts like they don't exist. Is it my job, or anyone's, to spend dozens of hours "debunking" what amounts to a "middle-finger defense"?
The call Trump relies on as exculpatory (a) didn't happen when he says it did, (b) didn't include the content he says it did, (c) was prompted by him already having been caught, and *even despite all that* is *still* (d) wildly (as in *wildly*) inculpatory. Who has time for this?

1/ Seriously, did you ever expect we'd be 3 years—but 16,000 lies—into this presidency and still be told that it's *unacceptable* to discuss the possibility this president is mentally ill? Mythomania is associated by doctors with both personality disorder and factitious disorder.
2/ We're still at a time when a president hiding a mental illness would be considered a national scandal—as it could be a national security issue. And sure enough, Trump's presidency has seen national security breach after national security breach apparently caused by mythomania.

2. The contrast in his style and demeanor in interviewing Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and then Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) revealed his continuing overt political bias in favor of Democrats.
3. It was a truly despicable performance, but to be expected from a guy who worked on far-left Iowa Democrat Sen. Tom Harkins’ presidential campaign in 1992. Todd hasn’t changed his political spots one iota since then.

The House convenes at 9AM ET to begin a day of speeches and debate ahead of a vote, expected between 6:30PM-7:30PM ET, to impeach the 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump.

There is a chance the final vote time could shift to a bit later in the evening. It depends on the number and nature of objections mounted during debate that could slow down the process.

I will have live coverage of the proceedings throughout the day.
I have covered this presidency from its campaign inception to the inauguration and now to impeachment.
That is not something I imagine I will ever be able to say again.

But if I have learned anything in these last three years, it is that certainty is a luxury I can ill afford.
