Very interesting debate in RS on Article 370. But few qs: why are mobiles/TV screens blanked out in valley? Shouldn’t the Kashmiris as stakeholders be listening to a debate on their future? Govt speaker attacking Muftis/Abdullahs. Hey, weren’t these guys your allies till yday?
Congress has been in power for much of the last 72 years. what concrete steps were taken to get Kashmir back on track? To Valley parties: did you fail the people of the state by building family dynasties? To jihadi groups: how is the gun a solution to a political issue?
To Pakistan: what moral right do you have to speak for Kashmir when you unleash terror groups on its soil? finally to the people of India: is Kashmir simply a piece of land or is it about its people, their concerns and beliefs. Have we got trapped in a Hindu Muslim binary?

Just went through @RahulGandhi affidavit: he has clearly not ‘apologised’ for his stand on Rafale contrary to initial reports. He has only expressed ‘regret’ to SC for wrongly attributing ‘chowkidar chor hai’ remark to them, where he had no choice! In other words, status quo!
The BJP earlier claimed a ‘clean chit’ on Rafale from SC when there was none; Rahul Gandhi claimed SC had endorsed its ‘chor’ remark when it had not. Election season = fake narratives.
This ‘heat of campaign’ argument used by Mr Gandhi in SC affidavit has been used way too often to carry weight. Yes,election time is ‘hot’ but top politicians across party lines should weigh their words carefully; hope next time it won’t require SC intervention for a corrective

The #CAB is a decoy. It's a red herring - that was bound to cause #CAAProtests to errupt to draw attention away from #NRCBill. CAB is to NRC what the #Dataprotectionbill is to #Aadhaar. The real danger is from Aadhaar. Like it is from NRC. @Stupidosaur?
Explanation :The #CABBill does not specifically say it will not give citizenship to Muslim immigrants. If it does, the #CAA will straight away go to court as it's blatantly Unconstitutional. But the #NRC which is random, can easily target more Muslims if that's BJP govt's aim.

1/ There are lots of good and vital ethical, moral, and political arguments against the fundamental injustice of the #CAA. This thread lists other arguments and forms of resistance that focus on procedural and institutional challenges.
2/

Writing this so that we remember that our forms of resistance must be as varied and diverse as the forms of exclusion we face. The courage of today's protestors deserves pathways tomorrow to grow and sustain.
3/

In a nutshell: the #CAA constantly seeks to separate from the #NRC. Former is the "Act", latter only an "implementation mechanism." This will make legal challenges focus on CAA and less on NRC which will appear procedural and apolitical.
