This is such a transparently phony performance I'm actually impressed the reporters didn't laugh at him as he delivered it.
I love how he blows right past the question to deliver his planned performance -- complete with his standard array of hand gestures and eye pops -- and then gets upset when he has to break character because he's interrupted by a reporter asking him to answer the question.
And then he parrots the pathetic idea that Hunter Biden's actions matter at all in these proceedings, like a two-bit defense attorney saying, sure, my client murdered that man, but he was a *really* sleazy guy and he totally had it coming.
Then he somehow finds a second gear by insisting that Joe Biden's efforts to remove Shokin -- in keeping with formal US policy and the wishes of the EU, IMF, etc. -- was actually a crime and, what's more, a crime that Biden bragged about IN PUBLIC, ON STAGE, WITH CAMERAS ROLLING.
And then -- Good God -- he kicks it up *another* notch by saying Bolton's eyewitness account of the Ukraine pressure wouldn't speak to the central issues of this case.
You know, not like the vitally important question of whether Hunter Biden got paid too much for a cushy job.

But the best part is that this wasn't spontaneous but a routine he scripted and rehearsed like a high school debater prepping for Regionals.
