Sekulow verging into anti-Mueller conspiracy theories. Suggests he "destroyed evidence" on Strzok and Page's phones (and claimed, "I don't know what happened")

Sekulow's riff gets odder as he seems to address the Democratic senators running for president, says they obviously don't want to be here
Sekulow back to attacking Mueller again. Says he was thinking about playing "all the clips" from commentators criticizing Mueller's testimony, but he won't. Says he was unable to answer questions. "That's what the president's been living with."
Sekulow points out that days before Trump released the aid, on September 5, Ukraine's high anti-corruption court first sat.

But he avoids outright asserting the two events have any connection. And then just uses it to argue, wow, Ukraine has a lot of corruption

Some Iowa rules weirdness:

In a change this year, after the first round of voting in a precinct, supporters of any candidate who is viable (which in most precincts means hitting 15% support) will be locked in, and unable to realign.
This creates odd dynamics. For example, if your candidate is at 15% after the first tally, you’re stuck with someone who could be a weak 4th place finisher.

But if your candidate is at 14%, you and their other supporters are free to realign and perhaps swing the outcome
Strategically, the play for people who are flexible and want to influence the outcome might be to go uncommitted on the first ballot.

But there’s a catch: if “uncommitted” hits 15% in a precinct, “uncommitted” becomes viable and you're locked in there!

What's noteworthy isn't really that Lamar admits the evidence shows Trump "did it" — that's like admitting the sky is blue.

The noteworthy part is that so few other Republicans are willing to make that obvious point.
A common position among Democrats in 1999 was that, yes, Clinton did inappropriate things, but it wasn't worth removing him from office.

But because Trump asserts he did nothing wrong, that's the most common GOP position too.
As usual @LPDonovan is worth reading for those who want to understand many Republicans' mentality (or, if you prefer, rationalizations) here.
