Bhadreshwar is one of most important historical places of Gujarat. In ancient time it was known as Bhadravati & was major port of west India.From very ancient time to middle age Gujarat had foreign trade with Africa from Koteshwar;Bhadreshwar,Bharuch,Khambhat,Mandvi & Surat ports
12 century #Jain trader & shipping tycoon #Jagadusha was one of richest person of Gujarat.He donated huge wealth for public & religious work. In 1256-1259 great famine occurred for 3 years in Gujarat in time of king Visaldev. Jain rich of Bhadresar Kutch Jagadusha helped people.
2500 years old #Mahavir temple of Vasahi Tirth at Bhadreshwar in Kutch is one of the oldest Jain temples in Gujarat. It was rebuilt by philanthropic rich Jain trader Jagadusha in 1256 AD.He built Khimali Masjid at major port Bhadravati/Bhadresar Kutch for Arab traders & settlers.
In Solanki age 10-13th century widow remarriage was not allowed in upper castes of Gujarat. It was customary to obtain permission from caste.12th century top rich of Gujarat Jain philanthropist Jagadusha of Kutch was not allowed to remarry his child widow daughter by his caste.
In 1319 AD Jain monk Sarvanandsuri wrote poem 'Jagducharit'.It is the biography of famous 13th-century philanthropist of Kutch #Jain rich trader Jagdusha.
146 years old photos of #MahavirSwami Jain temple in Bhadresar-Kutch was taken by famous historian James Burgess in 1874 AD. It was built by rich Jain trader Jagdusha around 1256 AD. It does not exist now as it was rebuilt in 1883 AD & again rebuilt after 2001 AD Kutch earthquake ImageImage
#MahavirSwami Jain temple at Bhadresar is 1 of oldest Gujarat Jain temple. 2500 years ago immediate after death of Mahavir,Devchandra built it. In 1256 famous Jain philanthropist rich Jagdusha rebuilt Mahavir Swami Jain temple at Vasai Tirth Bhadresar.Rebuilt in 1883 & after 2001
31 years ago, I was bank manager of the bank branch in Bhadreshwar-Kutch #Jain Maha Tirth complex for 2 years. During my tenure at this historical place of Gujarat, I visited historical places of Bhadreshwar & around it. I learned more about #Jainism.
In 8 century Chavda Rajput Kanak Chavda ruled at Vinjan in Kutch. He won Bhadravati (Bhadreshwar). His grandson was Bhuvad Chavda who ruled Bhadreshwar from 915 to 934 AD. In a war with Solanki Rajputs Bhuvad Chavda was killed & lost state.Bhuvad village was founded in his memory
Six stone inscriptions of Gujarat Solanki kings are found in Kutch. One of them of king Siddharaj Jaysinh Solanki dated 1139 AD is at Chokhanda Mahadev temple at #Bhadreshwar. In this Sanskrit stone inscription, 'Kutchmandal' & 'Bhadreshwar Velakul (port)' words are written.
Historians believe that Kathi were Scythians.They came to Saurashtra & Kutch around 7 or 8 century from #Sindh.Saurashtra is known as Kathiawad. In 7/8 century Kathi came to Kutch from Sindh & settled in Kutch.Their capital was Pavargadh.Bhadresar & Kanthkot were under their rule
Bhadreshwarar is historic place of Gujarat. As it was big port city in ancient age,there are ruins of palace, fort, stepwell, temples,tombs & Masjids. As per stone inscriptions-of Ravechi Mata, Rav of 1272 AD & Bhadresar of 1275,Kutchmandal was under rule of Gujarat Vaghela kings
There are 2 Muslims' graves at Bhadreshwar (Kutch) which bear dates of years 1174 AD and 1177 AD.861 years ago in 1159 AD tomb of Saint Abul Azam Abdullah Ibrahim was built at Bhadreshwar Kutch Gujarat which is still exists.
Oldest Muslim inscriptions of India are at Pir Lal Shobah's tomb in Bhadreshwarar (Kutch) of Gujarat. They are of mid 12th century & in Arabic Kufic script. There were settlements of Arab traders on Kutch sea coast in 9th & 10th century.
In the rule of Hindu Rajput Solanki & Vaghela kings in Gujarat during 10th to13th century, Masjids were built at Patan, Bharuch, Khambhat, Asaval, Junagadh,Somnath,Mangrol & Bhadreshwar-Kutch.Before 15th century, Indian Hajj pilgrims started their voyage from Bhadreshwar (Kutch).
In Solanki time during 10-13th century Jain temples at Abu, Girnar, Shatrunjay,Taranga, Kumbharia, Patan, Khambhat & Bharuch were built. In this period Masjids (mosques) were built at Patan, Bharuch, Khambhat, Asaval/Karnavati, Junagadh, Somnath, Mangrol & Bhadreshwar-Kutch.
સોલંકી સમયે 10 થી 13 મી સદી દરમિયાન આબુ, ગિરનાર, શત્રુંજય, તારંગા, કુંભારિયા, પાટણ, ખંભાત અને ભરૂચ ખાતે જૈન મંદિરો બનાવવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સમયગાળામાં પાટણ, ભરૂચ, ખંભાત, અસાવલ / કર્ણાવતી, જૂનાગadh, સોમનાથ, માંગરોળ અને ભદ્રેશ્વર-કચ્છમાં મસ્જિદો (મસ્જિદો) બનાવવામાં આવી હતી.
