The quotes in the first chapter of the Economic Survey sound like they're admonishing the Government of India for terrible management of the economy.
"For more than three-fourths of known economic history, India has been the dominant economic power globally."

@sidin is one of the many people who added skepticism to this research that speaks to India's massive historical economic dominance livemint.com/Opinion/JFl9w4…
@sidin Hmm....

"During much of India's economic dominance, the economy relied on the invisible hand of the market."
@sidin "Over Rs 4,30,000 crores of taxpayer money is invested as Government’s equity in PSBs. In 2019, every rupee of taxpayer money invested in PSBs, on average, lost 23 paise."

@sidin Eco Survey calls for relaxing of fiscal deficit target.
@sidin "Net Tax revenue to the Centre, which was envisaged to grow at more than 25 per cent in 2019-20 BE relative to 2018-19 PA, grew at 2.6 per cent during April to November 2019."
@sidin Four years after the *flagship* move of the Modi government – demonetisation – the Economic Survey only mentions it twice, both in volume 2, when talking about currency/liquidity.

Remember when it was supposed to fix black money and lead to V-shaped growth?
@sidin Gahhh.

(For an illustrated explainer on how the banking system ended up in a crisis, read this by @nithya_sub: scroll.in/article/942838…)
@sidin @nithya_sub Warning signals for the shadow banking sector, with problems turning up starting, um, 2014.
@sidin @nithya_sub Azaadi makes an entry in the Eco Survey... except in a quote from Margaret Thatcher.
@sidin @nithya_sub Did some quotes in the Economic Survey come from WhatsApp?

This one, with a Sanskrist subhashit, was not attributed.

So I put it into Google, and found the English translation on "PurePuja" (including the "if you waste a bit u can't get money").
