In academia we’ve always had wing nuts who claim there is no objective truth, that one person’s facts are as good as another person’s facts.
Now we see that perverted ideology surface where it really matters: the senate impeachment trial of the President of the United States.
People who do not believe in objective truth- who believe there are alternative facts - don’t prove that there is no objective truth.
The only thing they prove is that some people are stupid.
The United States has only had one postmodern President— @realDonaldTrump.
If we don’t fix this problem soon, he could be our last president.
@realDonaldTrump The post-modern left is a fringe movement in academia, but relatively harmless because their foolishness doesn't go much further than that (nobody in politics embraces it).

Word of the day:
Caucus-- a charade held in the evening when parents with young children need to stay home and public transportation is difficult. Mostly white, male and elderly voters cast ballots which are counted by party officials, tallied and reported to party headquarters.
What I recall from two MN GOP caucuses:
First, sign loyalty oath to the party.
Next, lengthy discussion of local party offices.
Speeches by people you never heard of.
Finally, vote for presidential candidates on scraps of paper. Tallies written on classroom blackboard.
Go home.
Yes women outnumbered men at many Iowa caucuses -- but that's only because there is a huge gender gap between the parties and women voters avoid the GOP stag party like the plague.
Evening voting is still a nightmare for young families and people who need public transportation.

Anti-Semitism and political extremism usually are aligned.
Calling them out is one's duty.
Retaliation is sometimes the price one pays.
But the price of silence is much more.

In the 1930's Jews who called out anti-Semites were told to stop spreading "lies" that they should show some "humility" and that they should admit they were "wrong."
Never again.
If we don't fight bigotry, hatred and retaliation now, we will pay a much higher price later.
So, the Jews complain about anti-Semitism.
First, we'll accuse them of being political and spreading lies.
Next, we'll kick them off the town councils and the University tenure committees.
Next, we'll take away their professorships and remove the Jewish judges.

Far from being an obstacle, academic honesty in historical research is necessary when confronting the past.
Knowing what happened, and who was responsible for what, is critically important to making sure it doesn't happen again.

Results oriented research -- for example research that downplays the role of politicians and political appointees such as University Regents -- in implementing discriminatory policies, makes it much harder to hold persons with political power accountable today.
Minnesota in the 1930's may have been better than Alabama in the 1960's but powerful politicians and University Regents appointed by the Governor and legislature pushed for segregated student housing. Their role needs to be researched and documented in any report on the subject.

He checks the bathroom but there is no sign of the younger.

Failing to have his call picked up,
he sends a text and starts to feel anxious.

Did Kyungsoo run away?

He opens the closet and finds their bags with their wallets inside. It means the other only has his phone with him.

And he's not answering any calls and texts.

He's seriously getting worried.
If before, he could contact his cousin and ask of his whereabouts, right now he doesn't have anyone to turn to.

Just then the door opens, revealing a drenched Kyungsoo. The younger just stands there, at the doorway with a bashful smile.

"What happened to you? Why are you wet?"
