Halfwits want to shut down the Iowa caucus because it's the only form of voting in this fucking country that requires you to be civically engaged. It doesn't allow for electronic voting and mysterious "bags of votes" found in someone's car or the usual tricks the Dems use.
At the Iowa caucus, you have to physically show up (no absentee voting), you have to organize with other supporters of your chosen candidate (demonstrating teamwork), and you have to debate and argue with opponents in order to get people to join your side. That's why it's great.
So naturally, idiots in the Democratic Party decided to ruin the Iowa caucus with "satellite caucuses" and a stupid app for reporting the results, when the system worked fine already. They're trying to get rid of one of the few actual examples of democracy left in the U.S.
For reporting the raw vote results, all they needed was this:
1. Make everyone who shows up to caucus fill out a PAPER form so there's a consistent head count
2. Record all subsequent balloting on PAPER
3. Have the election officers count it up and report to HQ

As for the grousing about how absentee voting isn't allowed in Iowa: feature, not bug. Absentee/early voting is primarily an American phenomenon. In most countries, if you don't physically show up on Election Day, you don't get to vote: the way it should be.
Remember when Ireland had a plebiscite on legalizing abortion and all those Irish thots were posting pics of themselves flying home to vote? That's because if they hadn't gone back to Ireland, they wouldn't have been able to vote. That's how the system should work.
"But what if a voter can't make it to the polling station?" Glad you asked. Federal law already requires employers and schools to give employees/students time off to vote. "Early voting" is a crock designed to rig elections.
Far from being scrapped, the Iowa caucus should be the default form of voting in America. It would weed out low-information voters and improve the quality of politician that we're stuck with. So naturally, the caucus is the enemy of those who want to rig the votes.
