1/ I bugged the @StateDept for days to tell me which countries are in its new International Religious Freedom Alliance. They blew me off. Maybe it’s because the group, unveiled today, includes countries with troubling religious freedom records. Like Hungary. The list is:
2/ Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, The Gambia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Senegal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Togo, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
3/I guess if the @StateDept can’t get the propaganda-like coverage it wants, or the smart coverage it deserves, it’ll instead aim for next-to-no coverage. Anyway, young journos, the lesson here is if a government institution isn’t responding to you, you’re on the right track.
