Summary of results from iDCL trial of Tandem/Dexcom hybrid-closed loop system at #ADA2019
Included: 14 yrs and older, T1D > 1 yr
Minimal entry restrictions
170 subjects enrolled: Closed loop (112 ppl), sensor-augmented pump (56 ppl) #diabetes #t1d #closedloop
Subject characteristics: 33 years old; A1c 7.4% baseline; 20-25% MDI; 70% current CGM user;
Median diabetes duration 15 yrs
Outcomes:
100% of people completed study
Time in range increased 11% (to 71% in closed loop group); A1c decreased -0.33%; Mean glucose decreased 13 mg/dL;
Participants used CGM 97% time; 92% time with closed loop active.

I was in panel discussion at Christ University today on 'What is India's identity? Is it changing?'

I told India's primary identity is Hindu identity. A large section of audience gasped with shock as though I said something offensive. Some felt I was 'extreme'!
The kind of setback Hindus have faced in the narrative war is unbelievable and most unfortunate. It's a pity that we can't even call ourselves Hindu unapologetically.

Don't know how many decades of work is necessary to change this. Most important war to win is narrative war.
The idea that we became a new nation in 1947 & our Constitution is what makes us plural is the regular BS that our kids are fed with.

Unless Hindus realise that India is plural because India is majority Hindu & not just because of a Constitution, we won't go anywhere.

Juncker delivered his last #SOTEU2018 speech. Here are my major takeaways in a tweet #thread @CER_EU
1. As media had previously reported #Juncker decided not to focus on what his Commission achieved but on what still needs to be done to convince European citizens to say 'Yes' to the EU when they go to the polls next year.
2. I agree that it is not a good moment for pats on the back and I agree with #Juncker that member-states have in many respects held the Commission up from delivering on Commission's promises.
