Do you remember what I said when he was photographed with toilet paper trailing off his shoe?

"Do you think if anyone had pointed it out to him, he would thank them for it?"
He is on a rampage, dividing the world around him into Loyal and Enemy, even more so than usual.

Imagine he's annoyed with his hair-and-makeup people. Imagine him snapping. "Enough! Aren't you done?"

Probably happens a lot. Usually, they'd push past...
...as the cost/hassle of annoying him in the moment would be so much lower than the price they would pay for letting him go out looking like a ghoul wearing a human skin mask.

That would be the calculation on a normal day.
On a day like today, when he's firing war heroes and making lists and probably muttering angrily about even people who voted to acquit him, the calculus shifts.

Who wants to stick their neck out to save him on a day like today?
My other thought on this picture... I said on here once that as ridiculous as his tan and multidimensional combover are, the theory behind them is sound: it tricks the mind into categorizing him differently than if he presented pasty white and bald.

I got some flak for that...
...from people going "uh, it's not working then."

But I invite you to look at his face past the "tan line" and extrapolate it to the rest of his face.

Imagine how much more frail he would look at first sight if that was what we saw.
And first sight is really all that matters for how we see what we see. When you look at a human being, when you look at their face, you don't see EVERYTHING. You see what your brain highlights, put together in a way that makes sense to it.
Donald Trump's burnt sienna spray job tips the first impression from pale and pallid to bright and vibrant. If you think he's ridiculous... well, you're not his target audience. He wants to fool the people who are easily fooled, because they'll stay fooled with less effort.
But even if you're not his mark, you're still not seeing the most prominent, ear-to-ear marker of age and frailty you could be seeing, which stops you from contextualizing the other age markers as being as important as they would be.
It works. He doesn't look great but his face doesn't register as a 73 year old whose only exercise is cheating at golf.
Also, just looking at that picture... maybe it's the angle and the lighting making it look that way, or maybe this is something that was obvious and I'm the last one to notice.

Does... does he color his hair with the same stuff as his skin?
