As I understand it, and I welcome voices who have deeper knowledge than I, the Wet'suet'en hereditary chiefs offered a different route for this LNG pipeline, and the company wasn't interested because it would be longer and cost more money. 2/20
The Wet'suet'en hereditary chiefs kept telling Coastal Gaslink that they did not want this pipeline running on the route the company wanted to use. They explained why, and also that the Supreme Court of Canada had recognised their sovereignty over this territory. 3/20

Ottawa is a pretty small place politically. It is astonishing that journos/pundits treated the Baird potential run as normal or maybe good. You knew & you covered for him. That is unconscionable. YOU KNEW. Or you had heard rumours or more. Who thinks this is OK? I sure don't.
One has to assume that all the Canadian federal political journalist/pundit classes are on the payroll of the CPC. There is no F*ing excuse for not pointing out that a party might elect a serial predator/abuser as leader. People NEED to know this sort of thing.
I knew about Baird's proclivities out in Alberta, far from the Ottawa bubble. How the hell can #cdnmedia claim any innocence in this at all? I knew he had been accused of inappropriate behaviour. It's not about being gay, just to be clear. It's about consent or lack thereof.

Honestly, what is it with windshield wipers? My vehicle has thrown 2 blades so far this winter. And why are they so complicated to put on? The blade comes with a bunch of incomprehensible pictures and weird bits of plastic. 1/5 #FirstWorldProblems

Republicans had the White House and both Houses of Congress for 2 years and accomplished two main things:

- Give a tax cut to themselves and their rich friends
- Cut social services for the poor

Democrats NEED to remind people of this in their message during the 2020 election.
There's a reason why Republicans are constantly trying to change the subject. Stop letting them.

Republicans will spend this election painting anyone trying to help people as a socialist, but the focus has to remain on how much GOP greed is hurting anyone who isn't already rich.

People are still trying to convince me that my opinion on illegal downloads is wrong, and y'all, this is my living, this is my career, this is the thing I love most of all. My girlfriend knows she's "the other woman" to my work.
Nothing you can say is ever going to convince me that because I have worked my ass off to become a full-time creative professional, I should open everything I do to illegal copyright infringement. No, not even that.
Is copyright broken? Yes. Copyright is broken. As a huge advocate for fanfic, I've been aware of that since I was fourteen or so, and started trying to understand why I had to put disclaimers on my ElfQuest stories.

It's occurred to me that a lot of you may genuinely not know why half of this country voted Republican and for President Trump, and will do so again in 2020. I'd like to have a sincere, open, mutually respectful talk about that.
