THREAD: Here is yet another Finaldi-deposed witness who wound up offering further clarity and support of MJ's innocence—Gary Hearne.

Hearne was MJ's longtime chauffeur. His 1994 deposition/testimony was grossly misrepresented across many books and media headlines for 25+ years.
One of the most common claims attributed to Hearne (MJFacts, Dimond & other guilt-driven sources) is that he was ordered to remove briefcase(s) from a raided property with the implication that he concealed evidence.

Here's a sample of how this claim grew legs across the decades.
Before diving into these long-spread falsities, here are other key takeaways.

Hearne disbelieves Wade's allegations and told Finaldi that such claims "always ran counter to my impression of MJ from being w/ him for such long periods of time...daily basis...being very close..."
Finaldi asked Hearne about photos specifically of unrelated children at Neverland.

Hearne explained: "Some were in his family. Some were friends of his that I had met myself...whole top of [piano] was covered...in portrait style of children, of grown-ups, of people in his life."
Finaldi brought up LMP, questioning Hearne about her relationship w/ MJ (to suggest it was all a ruse).

Hearne said they were long-term friends, regularly with each other, he saw them kiss in the back seat, took them to private dinners etc. Their marriage didn't surprise him.
Finaldi implied Hearne hauled kids to MJ. Hearne explained he transported kids w/ their parents as well as other adults regularly to visit MJ.

FINALDI: It's no secret that he had kids with him all the time?

HEARNE: No, not all the time.

Also kids were often there without MJ.
Finaldi suggested MJ always had at least one or more kids present, and that it would be very rare for him to not have some kid present.

Hearne rebuked this, saying that at least more than half the time there were no kids present and at other times many kids but MJ wasn't around.
Hearne recalled only two specific times of driving Wade and his family or friends (a single trip to-and-from Neverland).

It was Wade, Joy & friends when Wade was 16-20 years old, when he was teaching dance classes at a studio. Hearne said MJ wasn't at the ranch on this occasion.
Hearne remembered regularly driving MJ's nephews and other relatives, as well as Barnes and Mac (as an adult).

Finaldi asked Hearne if MJ ever was in the back of the limo w/ kids & the privacy glass up.

Hearne responded "Not that I recall... He seldom had that screen up."
At one point during questioning, the estate lawyers ask Finaldi to show Hearne the transcripts from 23 years prior to refresh Hearne's memory.

Finaldi goes into a tirade over that remark.

ESTATE: "manifestly unfair...If you wanted to get to the truth, you would show it to him."
Finaldi asked about a "secret door that led to another room from MJ's closet."

Hearne didn't know what he was referring to. Finaldi expresses disbelief.

Estate lawyer retorted: "We don't believe everything we read on Radar Online...I know it's not going well, but continue." 😁
Hearne again clarified, over Finaldi's repeated attempts of portraying MJ of being purely boy-obsessed, that girls were certainly in the picture as well.

Hearne recalled both boy and girl mannequins and both boys and girls being over at Neverland.
Finaldi then grilled Hearnes about shopping for toys and gifts for kids.

Hearnes explained: "MJ was doing it because they loved to shop for toys...not just kids, but adults...friends of his and business associates...he'd have me buy presents for them or he'd have delivered..."
Finaldi asked about the jewelry MJ bought for June.

Hearne explained how MJ "wanted to give presents as he often did...He [saw] a Tiffany's ad...they were about to take a trip or June was it was kind of like a special occasion so he wanted to buy something really nice for her."
Finaldi then drudges up the headline-grabbing remark from Hearne's original testimony of taking MJ to Chandler's for 30 days straight.

Hearne clarifies this: "I was asked my best estimate...I didn't know. I was working 7 days a week and the days just kind of ran together."
Finaldi then zeroed in on whether Hearne ever saw MJ make physical contact with Jordan.

Hearne described the type of innocuous contact he may had seen, adding: "If it was something that was inappropriate or in a sexual way, I would have remembered that and I have no such memory.
Finaldi questioned Hearne about tabloid fodder including stories drummed up by Hard Copy/NL5/Havenhurst 5 suggesting MJ would hide children in the back of limos to sneak onto the property & have protocol relating to this.

Hearne has no recollection of anything like that at all.
Finaldi then shifted focus to the request by Pellicano days after the Chandler allegations broke, regarding a briefcase.

This is what many publishers (including Christopher Andersen in his mass-published gossip book) suggested was somehow done as a tip-off PRIOR to the raid.🙄
In fact, Hearne (and a few outlets at the time including Associated Press) correctly explained how this was a request made long after the surprise raid earlier in the day. It occurred after authorities had already seized anything deemed to be of potential value in their case.
Hearne explained he went to Hideout to get the search warrant doc investigators left after completing the raid. Hearne read it to Pelicanno.

Hearne said he was surprised of Chandler allegations given his familiarity w/ MJ but not surprised given his observation of Evan Chandler.
Hearne then described his interactions with Evan Chandler and why the allegations didn't surprise him coming from Evan.

"He seemed to be totally uninterested in his son's welfare...put his desire for a basketball ahead of his son's report [MJ was helping with]...a narcissist."
Hearne continued describing his disgust in Evan's conduct prior to the allegations coming about. Evan made promises to Jordan and never delivered.

His persona changed entirely when MJ refused to agree to his movie funding idea, and shortly thereafter the allegations arose.
FINALDI: Your takeaway was that Evan would make up an allegation of sexual abuse?

HEARNE: Yes. Yes, to use as a way of getting what he wanted.

FINALDI: And had you ever had that impression of anyone you had met prior in your entire life?

HEARNE: No.
Finaldi asked Hearne if he had anything negative to say about MJ. Hearne explained:

- MJ was not great at keeping appointments.
- MJ would sometimes trust people he shouldn't have.
- MJ also mistrusted people he sometimes should have.
- MJ was not a very good housekeeper.
Finaldi circled back around to asking Hearne if he found it weard that MJ would be sleeping at the Chandler's house.

Hearne described in detail why he didn't find it weird at all knowing Michael's past like he did, as well as seeing MJ's interactions w/ entire Chandler family.
Finaldi questioned Hearne claiming MJ bought a "$20,000 computer" for Jordan in his grand jury testimony.

Hearne said he misspoke. MJ may've bought a simple PC for Chandlers but the expensive computer was for Michael to use at the Century City location. Hearne wasn't tech-savvy.
Finaldi, outraged over Hearne not following his tabloid desires, kept returning to the prospect of MJ "spending so much time with young boys."

So once again, Hearne properly explained his perception of MJ from the days, months and years he spent closely with him and his friends.
Finaldi returned to the infamous briefcase+suitcase retrieved from the hideout along w/ the search warrant doc.

Hearne reiterated how "MJ had all kinds of suitcases and bags and so forth... It was not uncommon for him to run off and leave something he meant to bring with him..."
When Finaldi asked Hearne if he felt he was helping MJ hide something by taking the items, Hearne again explained how the place had already been searched beforehand.

"The place had just been searched by the police. And the bag -- both bags [briefcases] were in plain sight."
Finaldi, growing increasingly desperate by Hearne's logic, tried again to derail his words by noting how Pellicano denied that Hearne brought suitcases to his house.

Hearne noted again that he wasn't sure if it was Pellicano's house or another associate who had known Pellicano.
Hearne explained that when he took MJ and the Chandlers to Disneyland he likewise stayed along for the day and went on rides with them etc.
Hearne clarified that when he saw MJ & LMP kissing it was "inadvertent...I just happened to be looking up in the rear view mirror & I realized what I was -- you know, they were having a private moment and so I didn't continue to look."

He did not deliberately gawk over the two.
Finaldi uses every opportunity to spin claims back to portray MJ as being obsessed with boys. He brought up LMP's children and suggested Hearne saw "MJ spending time with the boy?"

Hearne clarified: "I saw them as a group together...he was with the boy, LMP and her daughter."
Finaldi asked Hearne about nicknames MJ would give to friends. Hearne said MJ would call a lot of his friends either Applehead and Rubba or Rubber Head.

In the end, Hearne reiterated that he believes Wade Robson is making up the allegations.
What is interesting to note (as MJ's estates did throughout the deposition) is that almost no questions related to Wade or James specifically.

Virtually all of Finaldi's questions were about the Chandler allegations and old tabloid rumors. This is Finaldi clutching at straws.
