Journalist asks Abbas what he had for breakfast:

Abbas responds: I had Cheerios, but they were the bitter cheerios of occupation, and I long for the sweet cheerios of my ancestors in ancient Palestine

Israeli journalist points out on Twitter that Cheerios were created in 1941, and are not, from ancient Palestine.

Then it begins.

@Haaretz and @972mag run articles titled "The Cheerios of Palestine: An investigation into the history of the breakfast cereal that you never knew was Palestinian"

"Activists" like @MairavZ quote-tweet @LahavHarkov tweet about eating breakfast from three years ago, claiming that it's a form of bias.

@RashidaTlaib and @IlhanMN point out that General Mills is complicit in cultural appropriation by selling cheerios in Israel.

@nytopinion runs an op-ed by a Palestinian "scholar" about how every time Israelis eat cheerios they are participating in the Occupation.

They don't mention that the writer is a PA official and a former member of the PLO released from Prison during a prisoner swap.

Linda Sarsour: Gives a speech on Israeli occupation and that the round shape of Cheerios symbolize the eternity of Palestine and that the gold color was representative of the Golden Mosque on Al-Aqsa in "occupied Al-Quds"

At some point @mehdirhasan writes a piece in the @theintercept about how the current administration serves Cheerios in the White House and after following a paper trail it turns out those cheerios are funded by AIPAC for...reasons.
