2. For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were others with him. His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed… #FinancialRest
3. Jesus replied Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on, you’ll be fishing for people”. And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus” #FinancialRest
4. We are applying the principle of rest to our finances. How can we enjoy rest in our finances? We have said that God finished the foundational work of creation and the state of rest is bringing everything into alignment with God’s work. #FinancialRest
5. Man’s first full day of existence was a day of rest which was for interaction, inspiration and communication with God in order to download God’s plans and man’s role in it. #FinancialRest
6. You get rest when you know God’s plan and you do it. Falling out of alignment is what brings about struggle. Seek alignment with God and all other things will be added. Instead of worrying, hear God and obey Him. #FinancialRest
7. This is the secret of rest. Acting on what God said requires courage. One of the reasons why a lot of Christians do not enjoy financial rest is fear. Peter had to be courageous and take a risk. I banish the spirit of fear and cowardice in the name of Jesus. #FinancialRest
8. Jesus told him to throw out his net in the very place where he had previously been unsuccessful. This instruction did not make any sense especially because it did not comply with the rules of engagement for the fishing business. #FinancialRest
9. Fear frustrated the potential of the servant with one talent in Matthew 25:25 NKJV “And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.” #FinancialRest
10. You must learn to defy reality. Peter took courageous action on revelation after a spectacular failure. BUILD YOUR FAITH! The fear of trying is destroyed in your life today in Jesus name! #FinancialRest
11. Culture is quite the problem in our part of the world and fear is right there in our culture. Fear of witchcraft among other things. The average African is practically force-fed with prejudice and the fear of witchcraft. #FinancialRest
12. Another aspect of culture that is frightening is the worship of money. This is widespread but the expression of it in Africa is serious. The idea that anything can be done in the pursuit of money is dangerous to the extent of killing people for money rituals. #FinancialRest
13. This communicates that money is more valuable than human life and this practice is despicable. Don’t value money over human life. Money ritual is the greatest scam! #FinancialRest
14. You cannot be a follower of Jesus and be a money worshipper. Rom. 12:2 MSG - "Don’t become well-adjusted to our culture that you fit into without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from inside out.
15. Readily recognize what He wants you to do and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity. God brings out the best of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.’’ #FinancialRest
16. God does not have a problem with us having money. But when you have heard God, obeyed Him and have been blessed, will you still be able to obey God? #FinancialRest
17. Will God still be in charge after you have become wealthy? Can God ask for your Isaac? To be rich and still be able to obey God in this mammon-driven system is impossible but with God it is possible. #FinancialRest
18. God has told us not to worry about what we will eat and drink and wear so what does he want us to do with our wealth? He wants us to take care of people. 1st Timothy 6:17-19. #FinancialRest
19. My call today is not to amass wealth, but to empower those that will use it to do God’s work. Peter reminded Jesus one day: “We have left all and followed you”. Let’s check the conversation in Mark 10:17-31. #FinancialRest
20. Some have been stranded at that point, unable to realise their potential financially, but today is the day of breakthrough through consecration. Some here are about to see the money they’ve never seen before. Just yield to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. #FinancialRest
21. Pray a prayer of consecration now. Lord, give me the courage to obey you. I commit on my part to obey you as you give me financial rest in Jesus name. #FinancialRest
