On 11/7/18, the morning after the election in which Dems beat the GOP by 8.6 pts, the @FiveThirtyEight Trump job approval tracker for likely/registered voters had him down 8.5, 44/52.5.

It's 44/52.5 -8.5 today. There is a reason Trump seems worried.
@FiveThirtyEight 2/Repeat after me - Trump is losing the election.

Using Real Clear, the only battleground state Trump leads in now is Texas, and there not by much.

That he's down 4 and at 45% in NC is just brutal for him, for GOP Senate chances too.
@FiveThirtyEight 3/Every Senate poll taken in last few months w/head to heads has GOP incumbent in AZ/ME/NC trailing their Democratic opponent. As a general rule of thumb, incumbents in the low 40s almost always lose.

#MoscowMitch's hold on power may be slipping away.

1/In thinking abt Bernie what has struck me is how, like Trump, "Bernie" has become a brand, a story, a narrative grounded more in fiction than truth and constancy; and how just fundamentally dishonest his whole candidacy is.

2/The inconvenient truths are significant - he was an extremist on guns/immigration not a champion. He was not just a socialist but also an active Communist. His domestic agenda is an insulting fantasy. His delegate narrative is the opposite of what he argued in 2016.
3/The biggest "rebrand" of the 2020 "Bernie" is the positioning of him as a champion of immigrants.

The reality is Bernie may have been the single most anti-immigrant elected official on the center-left in the last generation of US politics.

1/A reminder that the President was Impeached over illegally using the US government to try to knock Joe Biden out of the race.

That Trump has resumed his ads against Biden is confirmation of the corrupt intent of the Ukraine Affair - it was always about politics.
2/IMHO Tom Perez has to take a firm stand against Trump continually trying to intervene in our primary, and connect it back to Impeachment. This isn't okay, and we need to say so, even have the DNC formally come to Biden's defense.
3/Hard cold reality for Democrats now is that Trump is going to spend aggressively against our top candidate(s) potentially for the next five months if we go to the Convention. Has does any candidate survive that?

DNC has to do something here. It's job is to win the election.

Gonna do a #Bernie2020 #thread, but I want to preface this by shooting down the "Not a Real Democrat" argument - the Democratic and Republican parties are hemorrhaging supporters like crazy right now, the only "real" anythings right now support the status quo that got us here.
But, this trend isn't recent, let's zoom out… Wow, look at that giant drop in "Real Democrats" after Carter, when the New Deal Democrats had been soundly defeated, first by the DNC itself at the 1968 national convention - then the '72 rule changes - and Carter's poor performance
What happened in '68? Why, the DNC decided that it knew better than 80% of Democratic voters and the delegates chose Humphrey - and the Anti-War protestors didn't like the pro-War candidate that they wouldn't vote for, and The Establishment didn't like that, man

Fun #SpiderVerse Fact!

1) To cut the post credit scene our assistants downloaded the 1960’s Spider-Man episode “Double Identity” off of YouTube. @philiplord, @rodneyrothman, and I were writing the scene on the fly and scratching dialogue to keep trying out different things...
2) The problem was we only had a few weeks until release and one animator left on the show (Joshua Beveridge?). We had one chance. We quickly workshopped and I cut the picture from the youtube video to match the dialogue we were trying, ignoring the pointing action at first...
3) When we were happy, I looped the footage of the pointing to match the dialogue which was a rudimentary way to “animate” this in editorial. I also comped the head of ‘67 Spidey on his body so I could loop his mouth movements to match his speech. I turned over to animation...
