As a member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, I've worked with members of both parties to improve housing, economic opportunities, education, and healthcare for our veterans, and also helped secure $128M for our Marines at Camp Pendleton. 2/8
As a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, I wrote legislation to make the clean-up of radioactive waste at San Onofre a top priority for federal funding and to expedite the removal of spent nuclear fuel. 3/8
I took a leadership role in helping to secure $300 million to eliminate raw sewage from the Tijuana River Valley from fouling our coast and beaches. 4/8
I've worked to protect and strengthen the Affordable Care Act, lower the cost of prescription drugs, reduce the cost of hospitalization, protect coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, and prevent cuts to Medicare and Social Security. 5/8
With our region confronting the reality of climate change, I was chosen to serve on the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. In that role, I've successfully brought federal resources to protect our Southern California bluffs and coastline. 6/8
I've held one open Town Hall meeting every month I've been in office, giving thousands an opportunity to ask questions and hold me accountable. I've attended over 220 house parties and our team has helped hundreds solve federal government problems. 7/8
