In 2014, Nigeria contained #Ebola, through bi-partisan efforts, recording just 19 confirmed cases with 7 deaths. First index case was July 20. By October 20, @WHO DECLARED Nig, EBOLA FREE.

- Fast & thorough tracing of all potential contacts
- Monitoring of all of the contacts
- Rapid isolation of potentially infectious contacts

- Vigilant disinfecting
- Port-of-entry screening
- Rapid isolation
- Boot leather & in-person follow-up visits.
Over 18,500 visits were completed to find any new cases of Ebola of a total of 989 identified contacts.

- An Incident Management Center (which morphed into Emergency Operations Center) was CREATED
- The IMC coordinated responses



- Also, there was massive public awareness campaigns across schools, religious institutions, etc
- The early engagement of educational, traditional, religious & community leaders, also played a key role in Nigeria's successful containment of #Ebola in 2014.
