My educated guess on Patel/Rutnam: He told Patel that deportation to Jamaica 20 days ago was unlawful, her response was “don’t care, get it f’kin done”; when courts found it unlawful and stopped it, she blamed Rutnam’s advice to Cabinet; he quietly let it be known she was lying.
I’ll make one further guess. A top civil servant, will not have decided to take a Secretary of State to court, unless he had incontrovertible documentary evidence supporting his position. Patel will be hung out to dry or have to throw A LOT of cash at him, once discovery starts.
