(1,11) Last night, I decided that the time has come for me to make a decision in the Presidential primary as my vote in Florida is only two weeks away. I have decided to endorse @JoeBiden for President. He again showed this country that he is a fighter for us.
(2,11) @JoeBiden is a fighter who understand how to fight and win but with decency, integrity, civility, and honor. Those are the qualities needed to defeat the current occupant of the White House and to restore America following him. Anyone who has followed my story knows
(3,11) just how much @JoeBiden has meant to me and my process of healing. That said, I waited this long to endorse because of how much I like many other candidates and how much I believed some of them could also have been great Presidents and may one day be great Presidents.
(4,11) For me, it came down to this. I believe the election is not only about the next President but it is also about flipping the Senate, firing McConnell, and holding the House. I believe @JoeBiden can WIN and be the right person for our times. I believe we can trust him.
(5,11) I believe we can count on @JoeBiden to put America and our interests above his own. My dream of getting true gun safety done requires all of this. I look forward to doing anything @JoeBiden needs to ensure his election, flip the Senate, and hold the house.
(6,11) I then look forward to working with @JoeBiden to pass gun safety measures that will lead to a reduction in the gun violence death rate in America.

My endorsement for @JoeBiden is done with complete and total respect for the other candidates. I personally have met and
(7,11) spoken with @MikeBloomberg and am so thankful for everything he has done to fight for gun safety and for America. I personally have met with @PeteButtigieg and think his future as a leader in America is now and I look forward to seeing the amazing things he will do. I am
(8,11) thankful for @amyklobuchar and @ewarren and the commitments that they have made to fighting gun violence. I am thankful for the issues highlighted by @TomSteyer and his graceful exit last night and his commitment to defeating the current occupant of the White House.
(9,11) That said, the time for this country to unite behind a candidate to defeat the current occupant of the White House and flip the Senate is NOW!!! I hope that these other candidates agree with my position and quickly make decisions to support @JoeBiden, or as I will be
(10,11) calling @JoeBiden from now on, the next President Of The United States Of America. It is time for us to look forward and to restore the fabric of our amazing country. @JoeBiden is the person to do this and it is my honor to offer my full endorsement.
(11,11) A few months ago, I did this commercial for the VP, long before I was ready to endorse. I did so because of my belief in him as person and what he meant to my healing. I hope you will watch this now!!!

(1,3) OK, now we move on to the South Carolina primaries. If like me you want the candidate who is not supported by Russia and guaranteeing 4 more years of Trump, who will allow this country to move away from Trump and heal, who can deliver the Senate and hold the House,
(2,3) Who can prevent the Supreme Court and judiciary from being lost for the next 50 years and who can deliver on my dream of true gun safety that will protect you and those you love then show up and VOTE!!! Bernie is NOT the answer.
(3,3) 2nd tier candidates who cannot win, it is now your duty to America to drop out and endorse someone who can win the middle and secure a general election victory. Bernie cannot do this and he will ensure everything that I referenced above does not happen by losing to Trump.

(1,5) Two years ago at approximately 7am, I sent my two children to school. I was so busy rushing them out the door so that they would not be late that my final words were not "I love you." Jesse came home that day. Jaime did not.
(2,5) I sent my children to school where they were supposed to be safe. They were not. Jaime became a victim of gun violence. Two years ago. Hard to believe. Every day is a new journey where I try to learn how to move forward and not move on. That is my reality.
(3,5) People always ask me, what can they do. I will answer. I need everyone who reads this to promise to PLEASE VOTE! By this I mean EVERY election possible.
VOTE FOR JAIME GUTTENBERG! Vote for your own safety from gun violence. If you are not registered to vote, do it now.

Regarding comments I see on Twitter, I want to explain why I do not hate the current occupant of the White House. I do not know him and so my comments are based upon what he says and what he does. I will tell you what I do not like:

1. I do not like the way he speaks to and about others.
2. I do not like that he lies all day, every day.
3. I do not like his child like taunts or nick names that for most people stop in the 5th grade.
4. I do not like him turning Americans against one another.

5. I do not like that he treating the US treasury the way he did his business with increasing levels of debt and no plan to pay. Is he trying to bankrupt the country?

On the busy Craigieburn line train home from the city last night, a young boy started crying.

It quickly became obvious no one was travelling with him.

He was very, very distressed.

I watched from two seats away as the woman sitting next to him took charge, trying to find out what his name was & where his parents were. It was almost impossible to get information out of him. She said she’d get off with him at Nth Melb to help sort things out. /2
A man in a CFMMEU top, sitting opposite the boy, checked that the woman was fine to look after him. It was hard to talk with him, so the man and the boy looked at the train map to work out where he lived. The boy pointed to Sunbury, a long way from where we were. /3

Now that #JoeBiden is running I thought I’d share my Biden story. Because I have one.

After college, my first job was for an anti-nuke project run by Alan Cranston, a retired 4-term senator from CA who’d been Democratic whip & a presidential primary candidate in ‘84.
Alan, as he insisted on being called, died suddenly on Dec 31, 2000. Though he’d been out of office since ‘92, he was a giant of California politics, and his funeral was a bit of an event. I and my colleague, Zack, worked full-time to help the family organize it.
We tracked which of his senate colleagues planned to attend. In the end, only Joe Biden and John Kerry came. Not Dianne Feinstein or Barbara Boxer. Just two friends who respected Alan for supporting vets while opposing the Vietnam War. Alan and Biden had come in together in ‘68.

Just this week a news release went out about 300 dead turtles along the St. Johns River system, the FWC scientists weren't made available and the UF scientists studying the turtles couldn't be made available either
Two weeks ago, executives at DEP and water district refused to say whether board members were on or off the water board, and still haven't said who directed them removed from website. PIO couldn't provide any answers & none of the folks in the know could pick up phone & clarify

Last nights was one of those nights when one felt proud to be a Democrat and a Nigerian - and not just because PDP took a step closer to returning to power but because the interest of Nigerians in the #2019Debate shows that this is a country we all so badly want to be proud of.
The beauty of our Democracy was laid bare for all to see and feel: candidates pitching ideas against ideas, thinking fast on their feet, jousting intellectually, jabbing and parrying, learning and making mental notes - all while we, the Citizens watched and evaluated.
The campaign season is a season where candidates assiduously court the voters - a brief moment where we as citizens can feel empowered, knowing that they’re deploying all their skills just to win our support and debates are best for this: even semi-literates were plugged in.

Rick Scott is trying to RAM through 3 conservative Supreme Court justice picks BEFORE his term ends & AFTER they are forced to retire because of a mandatory age 70 limit—a window that could be only hrs. All 3 justices have opposed Scott in major cases.
👨‍⚖️👩‍⚖️👩‍⚖️All three justices: Fred Lewis, Barbara Pariente & Peggy Quince are scheduled to leave on January 8, 2019—Scott says midnight.

💣Scott's term ends the exact same day, but he believes his term officially ends the next day (1/9/19) at noon when the new Governor is sworn in.
🛑There's an intermediary step: the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Committee (JNC) is supposed to come up with a list of replacement candidates for the three justices for the 7-member court before the decision is made.

🚅So Scott ordered the commission to start in mid-Sept!
