Black voters have felt that level of pissed off since we joined the franchise, it wasn’t until ‘08 that most of us saw the green grass on the other side. Which is why it was always a mistake to pretend Joe wouldn’t inherit the largest chunk of that institutional memory. Period.
Bottom line is a lot of folk are making the mistake of thinking the Democratic base hates Obama and Hillary as much as the MSM, Bernie, Trump, Russia, Bros/Broettes/bots and the MAGAts do. ICYMI WE DON’T and you CAN’T STOP US. 🔥
It ain’t OUR fault if we aren’t mobilized for YOUR fave. We still like our *FAVES* just fine and we haven’t forgotten how much. Just because you wish the Obama/Clinton coalition fell apart doesn’t mean we aren’t STILL #StrongerTogether. 💅🏾
I don’t trust the MSM to tell this truth the right way so in case they don’t, I’m here to tell you that Joe Biden is benefiting from the “I miss the Obamas” effect and it’s a beautiful thing to behold for those of us who are way past tired of them being smeared and slandered.
Joe’s been loyal, faithful, reliable and proud of the legacy WE built together, and SC is an indication that he’s being rewarded for his stewardship of Obama’s legacy plus the respect he continually pays to the *coalition* of marginalized voters who made that legacy possible.
I’ve said this umpteen times before but it’s still true so here it is again. You can’t come to the coalition begging for votes after you smeared and slandered it, that’s not how it works. Where have you been, and WHAT are you gonna do to EARN the throne? We ain’t seen you. 🧐
It was always a terrible strategy for Bernie (not a Democrat) to enter OUR primary with bros/bots blazing against Obama/the Obama&HRC coalition. Every candidate who followed his lead down that path put themselves at risk of alienating the precise coalition needed for basic math.
Every candidate who participated in the “I can do it better than Obama” (Joe by extension) schtick has done so b/c pretending Obama was a bigger problem than the corrupt and racist GOP obstruction that stood in his and forward progress’ way appeals to the White voting majority.
Conversely, the candidates who are POC and reliable White allies got weeded out of the race before votes were even cast b/c they “made the mistake” of courting the Obama/HRC coalition as a *1st* priority rather than taking Bernie’s detour for the WWC in the “heartland”/IA/NH. 🙃
As a result, the field became a narrative™️ induced quest for a “White savior”, which ALWAYS meant that marginalized voters would make the most exacting cut re: which one of the available options is the most reliable/intersectional/successful ally on the stage. Enters Uncle Joe..
Everybody’s been teasing Joe and calling him old, tired and lazy but the tea you haven’t heard from the MSM yet is he’s been chilling and didn’t have to work hard at all. He may be an older man but he still remembers he was Obama’s VP for 8 years. ☕️ He’s storing energy 4 the WH.
Since the impeachment I’ve been half joking, half serious when I say this but now that *real* primary exit polls are available for analysis I’m leaning more towards the latter. Trump getting himself impeached in an effort to take Joe down has granted Joe subliminal inevitability.
So once again what this means is the Black voters who Bernie habitually pegs as “low info” and miseducated (b/c we know he’s a fraud) have synthesized Joe’s reliable allyship + Obama’s legacy + racist Trump’s effort to destroy both = flipped The Narrative™️ on its 🙃. MATH.
