There are two types of progressives. Those who think they need to do more organizing and get better at persuading voters. And those who think voters who don't agree with them right now are sheep who've been duped.
If what drives your politics is a fundamental dislike and disdain for your fellow citizens, then maybe another line of work would be better suited for you.
You go into an election with the electorate you have, not the electorate you wish you had. And no one really knows what voters think or how they’ll act. Democracy is just messy and unpredictable.
I much prefer Sanders to Biden and thought he’d be a stronger candidate in the general. But (certainly not for the first time) voters did not share my assessment. So you take the L, learn from it, and keep working.
It’s too simplistic to call coordinated political maneuvering you like and participate in “a movement,” but call coordinated political maneuvering you don’t like “a conspiracy.” It’s a good narrative, but it collapses too much complexity and nuance.
And if your analysis of media and politics begins and ends with “Chomsky for Dummies,” then it would be worth reading a bit more on the topic.
