Gov. Andrew Cuomo is holding a press conference now with updates on coronavirus in New York.
Cuomo said the New Rochelle man's wife, their 20-year-old son, their daughter, and the man's neighbor, who drove him to the hospital, have all tested positive for coronavirus.
The son attends Yeshiva University in New York City. Yeshiva University is closed today. The daughter attends SAR's high school in Riverdale.
Cuomo said SUNY and CUNY students who are studying abroad in China, Italy, Japan, Iran, and South Korea will be taken back to New York and quarantined for 14 days. They will fly back to Stewart Airport.
Senior citizens and people who have compromised immune systems are the most vulnerable in this situation, Cuomo said.
There are going to be dozens of cases, Cuomo said.
"We are doing everything humanly possible" to improve and deal with this issue, he said.
There are 300 SUNY and CUNY students and faculty in those five countries that are returning and will be quarantined in dormitory facilities, Cuomo said.
Our @GannettAlbany asked Cuomo how many people in the Young Israel of New Rochelle congregation are being asked to quarantine themselves. Cuomo said that will be discussed at this afternoon's news conference in Westchester. The New Rochelle lawyer is part of that congregation.
@GannettAlbany Asked for an update on the condition of the New Rochelle lawyer, state Health Commissioner Howard Zucker said the man is in ICU. The man is at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in Manhattan.
