Today for the first time 100 countries are reporting #COVID19 cases. This comes after the 🌍 reached 100,000 cases yesterday. While very serious, this should not discourage us. There are many things everyone, everywhere can and should do now. #coronavirus

.@WHO launched 'Be Ready' campaign because everyone can prepare for #COVID19. Individuals, governments & businesses can help fight the new #coronavirus to save lives. Hospitals, airports & schools are just some of the places that can put preventive measures in place.
We're calling on people to Be Safe by remembering tried & tested public health measures, like regular hand washing & staying at least 1 metre (3 feet) from anyone coughing or sneezing. These ordinary measures are extraordinarily effective at fighting #COVID19.
We're asking people to Be Smart about #COVID19 by rejecting rumours & taking care to only share information from trusted sources. Everyone should keep informed about what is happening in their area and follow the recommendations of local authorities. who.int/COVID-19

The global number of confirmed #COVID19 cases has surpassed 100,000 today. It’s a sobering moment but it’s also important to remember that this #coronavirus can be contained & the spread slowed. Facts & evidence support this 👉bit.ly/39xAquF

-identify people who are sick, bring them to care
-follow up on contacts
-prepare 🏥 & clinics for a surge in patients

The GOOD
- Government in a complete reversal taken #COVID seriously
- As per contacts, many stay indoors if they can

The BAD:
- Explosion of cases in new cities
- Tehran seems to be next
- Extreme shortage of basic hygiene supplies

As I stated before:

- I am not a trained reporter or journalist
- I am not based in Iran
- Not affiliated with any poilitical group, for or against the government
- Most of my information comes from the internet with occasional conversations with people in Iran

Things that surprised/amazed me about Japan, an ongoing thread.

It’s my first time here. Please comment away and/or point out my cultural insensitivities!
1. A very friendly immigration officer and I laughed together, and when I said “I don’t really know where I’ll be staying,” he actually applauded it.
2. Very nice and clean train from the airport, with power sockets, and vending machines onboard.

Tons of solar panels passed by on the way.
