Aboriginal People) is who inserted the word Metis into the constitution in 1982? Metis National Council was not even a non profit corporation at that time.

Goss J said that it is inappropriate for such an organization to "announce to the world at large that it's members are clothed with constitutional rights."
Goss J further said "such an association represents it members, rather than the Metis community as a whole."
