See this shit right here, I joined to answer all the incorrect comments about Eastern Metis and then everything got deleted and I got the boot, guess you are not curious enough to really want to know the truth ?? More so just to spread untruths and lies. 😢
Seriously ?? Oh well, this is what we are always up against. She definitely doesn't want to know the truth, and I am pretty sure she already did, she just wanted to spread her hatred and vitriol about us, instead of me showing the truth. #EasternMetis
This person does not know me at all. Oh well, not to worried, If i am just a wannabe, she sure took all my posts down in a hurry. Bit too informative for her.
Umm no.. Metis in the East do not have reserves. We have non profit societies, that are organized for memberships and solidarity. Pretty sure you know that too, but it sounds better using Leroux talk , lol
Umm again no. We do not have bands or band cards. We have membership cards that are just that. An identifying card for membership that show you belong to that non profit corporation. Thank the government for that one if you don't like it, they insist on it.
Well Claire, again where you can't delete it, you are wrong. We are in the Union of Nova Scotia Indians bylaws since at least 1973. Also, no it is not white privilege and I can say I have researched pretty heavy . Our ancestors both went through some pretty awful sordid history
involved in the corporation of Canada. We were scalped, hunted by the Boston Rangers, made to be guides by laws of war, hung, villages and possessions burned, deported, Genocide etc. Not sure where you are getting your history from. You might want to brush up on it. L'Acadie anglaise-by Rumilly, Robert- 1983- the inhabitants of Grand-Pré, Rivière-aux-Canards and Piziquid-Some of them, among the best families, have entered into Indian alliances or are of Métis birth- They risk being scalped as Indians or massacred by the Indians for helping the Rangers.
We were not the savages - a Mi'kmaq perspective on the collision between European and native American civilizations-Paul, Daniel N- ©2000 - Raids into Acadia by the English and New England soldiers. Atrocities being committed against Acadians, Mi'kmaq and Maliseet populations.
State sponsored ethnic cleansing - genocide against the Acadians -
The Acadian Miracle - Dudley J LeBlanc - An act of unbelievable cruelty to the Acadians by the English - MicmacNews-1976-11.
Well Claire it is pretty awesome, you kick me out of the group and then want to talk to me. Not sure who I am claiming to be that I am not? Can you elaborate on that and we can clear that up? I am French Acadian Mi'kmaw with 4 signatories in my family. My great grandmother is
Evangeline Muise. I am not claiming your culture Claire. So you can calm it, 😊 .. I have my own culture, I do not need to appropriate yours. Although you keep talking about status and blood quantam , like you want me to appropriate your culture.? Metis do not have status and
per Powley , we do not have blood quantam requirements. You are just all over the place with incorrect comments. Section 32 of Powley.
William Wicken PHD - also the expert court historian and witness in the Marshall case.
The Metis in SouthWestern Nova Scotia - William Wicken - Oct 2004.
Wicken Report - these cases illustrate being metis was more than just a question of self-identity or of material and social conditions. People were metis because they were perceived to be by society.
Wicken Report - New Englanders were not always able to distinguish between the Mi'kmaq and metis.
Wicken Report - Marie Mius - Marie was neither French Acadian nor Mi'kmaq- She was Metis - Marie is one of my aunts down the generations, I know some of you have said you don't claim any ancestors after 4 generations, weird but ok , you do you , lol
I am still not sure how that works, if you don't claim the kinships and signatories who signed the treaties in 1752 and 1760-1761 that the supreme court has recognized? Passamaquoddy at Sipayik - two LaHeve treaties 1760-62 and the Cope treaty of 1752 have been formally
recognized by the Supreme Court of Canada as having constitutional status of treaties. Personally I honor all my ancestors. I guess we have different belief systems.
Carrying around all that hate, and to be honest, I am not sure what we even did to cause it, has to be exhausting. I think you are mad at the wrong people. #EasternMetis Histoire des seigneurs de la Rivière du Sud et de leurs alliés canadiens et acadiens-by Couillard-Després,
A-1912 - Therese de Saint-Castin daughter of the baron left many descendants - although all of these children of Saint-Castin were metis. Over the years we were always allies and kin, what went wrong? You asked if we stood in solidarity with The Wet'suwet'en, and most of us do.
I do, What I find extremely ironic about that comment though, is that the very people you have signed an MOU against us with, the MNC do not stand in solidarity with The Wet'suwet'en. Do you not find that just a tad ironic ?? Oh the irony, you just can't make this shit up !!
I am not sure where you keep getting the idea that we are trying to take your culture or spirituality, we have our own. It makes for good #Hate speech but that is about it. Considering the atrocities that have been done against us the Sang-Mele Acadians, how you can keep going on
about that being a one sided horror, I am not sure. At times, even the Acadians were targets. We were not the savages - a Mi'kmaq perspective on the collision between European and native American civilizations-Paul, Daniel N- ©1993 - by intermarriage
between the two groups./We were not the savages - a Mi'kmaq perspective on the collision between European and native American civilizations-Paul, Daniel N- ©1993 - Governor of the Massachusetts Bay scalping proclamation.
I don't run, but I certainly got showed the door when I can back up what I say.
The only nation I know who denies their kinship because there may be too many "Heirs." That is what this is all about. Nation building by "tossing family". Dan Paul acknowledging Metis , even though he has had a complete turn about on thoughts on that now. 😢
Msit No'kmaq - All my relations - my family is a blend of 2 cultures, appropriating none. The Metis in SouthWestern Nova Scotia-William Wicken- Oct 2004- Thus there emerged in this region a distinct metis community, composed of people who were neither Acadian nor Mi'kmaq.
Les stratégies de mobilité sociale des interprètes en Nouvelle-Écosse et à 1'Ile Royale, 1713 - 1758-Isabelle Ringuet 1999 - Wicken says doubts remain about the loyalty of the Metis interpreters to the French- Saint- Castin and others like him.
Yes I do, My ancestors went through it as well.. I am not sure what makes you think you live through it every day, when you are constantly sending hate speech against us. The irony of that statement is unbelievable. Are you saying Off reserve people don't have the same hardships
as you? Whatever, I have close friends on the reserve, I spent lots of time there, don't try pulling that on me.. I know better .. I have so many family members who needed dispensations to even just get married, do you? An ethnographic report on the acadian metis 2018 - Dominique
and Anne Mius needed Dispensation from the church to get married - my 4th Great Grandparents. You seem to be an expert on what went down in my family. But I don't think you actually know anything about me or my family. They needed this, because they were all so closely related
because the Sang-Pur Acadians wanted nothing to do with the tainted mixed blood Sang-Mele people. So save your privilege talk for someone who will believe you and doesn't know how foolish you sound. LES DÉBUTS DU MISSIONNAIRE SIGOGNE EN ACADIE - pg 55 - sang mele
Le père Sigogne et les Acadiens du sud-ouest de la Nouvelle-Écosse - By Gérald C. Boudreau - sang mele - whites did not want to see their unmarried children mixing with the mixed blood race.
