It was during my NYSC days that I first observed the frequent visits of traditional chiefs to the state house. I got worried and asked few questions:
1. Why are the traditional stools moving at slightest Invitation?
2. What is the new value of royalty?

3. Is the government now in control of traditional stools?
4. Are traditional chiefs aware that politics might sweep them away?

So many questions. It didn't take long, they created Directorate of chieftaincy affairs. I knew there was a diversion...

The dethronement of Sanusi by dollar-hiding-Ganduje is a long time distraction of the traditional powers making them irrelevant while throwing peanuts at them.

This is a repeat of the British colonial rule which used the service chiefs against its people.

The Traditional rulers became a stooge for the government, they asked for allowances, demanded payments and brown envelopes, but finally sold their conscience to the corrupt politicians.

If traditional rites had never been politically directed, they chances...

...that a chief/oba/emir/obi would be controlled by the political will would be slim.

When conscience is defiled, destiny is aborted.
What is the fate of other traditional stools who don't bow as stooges to politicians?

Politics is getting messier by day.

We have had Quintessential traditional leaders who opposed government and stood by the people. But following the events of power tuzzle, more traditional stools would remain caged and voiceless. #Sanusi
