Dear Dairy,

Today is Monday March 9th, 2020, the year of the China virus. I luckily made it through another day without contracting the virus. I did have to leave quickly from the lunch area when a co worker coughed. Boy, was that close.

I don't know how long I'll be able to
....keep this thread going. According to the News media we are all going to die from the virus. If the news reports are correct about the great toilet paper shortage maybe it's for the best.

It's funny, I woke up today feeling great with hope and joy for another day but then...
....I made the mistake of turning on the chicken little media. Within seconds, I heard of oil crashes, stock market crashes, cruise ghost ships sailing with infected, virus spreading into every nook and I grew fearful.

I searched for news on China and South Korea but..
....for some reason the main stream news is no longer talking about those two countries. They must have all died from the virus and they don't want to scare us. It's strange because last I heard the virus seemed to be on the decline over there.

It's nice knowing that in times
....of crisis we can count on the fake media to project a sense of calm and just give us the facts without trying to panic the population.

Well that's about all I have to say about today. If I'm still alive tomorrow I'll update this diary...
...but I don't hold out much hope, since the media is basically saying our chance of survival is about the same as the dodo bird's. However, on the off chance that I don't get infect with the dreaded virus from foreign lands, I plan on watching "I am Legend" and "Escape from NY"
...to be fully prepared for the coming extinction and mass anarchy. Well, wish me luck. Tomorrow will be yet another Darwinian fight for survival as I try to stay uninfected.

Let's look at this from a 30,000ft economic POV. Businesses increased inventories last year to get ahead of the China tariffs. That's one reason why you are not seeing massive shortages. China is now coming back online with reports showing 80-100% production back in most places.
Companies are drawing down their inventories. Those will need to be replenished, especially with a concern that a second wave of the china virus may hit next fall/winter.

So we had less imports this qrt but our exports weren't impacted much.
Exports should increase now as China can offload food stuff and other goods. Consumers are being forced to go and buy supplies because of the panic. Supplies they normally wouldn't buy at this time of year. They won't stop buying the normal stuff. So what businesses are impacted?

How has the left's insane decision to try to blame Trump for the China virus backfired so far? Top ten:

1. It has enabled Trump to appear Presidential
2. It has enabled the Trump administration to appear fully committed and competent by holding daily press briefings
3. It has allowed Trump to highlight the private healthcare system's benefits be it lab testing companies, hospitals or health insurance companies.

4. It has allowed Trump to be seen as a bridge between the federal government, state gov, local gov and private business.
5. It has allowed Trump to take the high ground and push a massive targeted stimulus during an election year. Directed at the poor and middle class.

6. It has placed Trump as the one fighting to save the country and the Dems if they refuse to vote as ones wishing it harm

I would bet $100 this entire article is fake news and simply an attempt to blunt the great news that came from the press conference yesterday. It's "unnamed sources" kind of gives it away. Plus if you listened to the press conference ....

President Trump, VP Pence and Sec Mnuchin were all clear and concise on what they were asking for.

Trump is meeting with Congressional leaders as well as healthcare CEOs today to work out the details and will hold a press conference tonight to tell us the progress.
The fake media are trying to muddy the waters with this garbage article. The admin has a clear plan of action to deal with the economic fall out.
