Scott Morrison appeals to "patriotism" of big business. The "business sector" does not do patriotism; it does profit and loss. 15 of 20 top companies here are majority US owned. Where does that shareholder loyalty lie? With the stars and stripes? Not the Coalition?
He calls on “Team Australia” to keep on full-time, part-time and casual workers through "the crisis." Wait, wasn't Tony Onion the last Captain of Team Australia? If #notmyPM is recycling Abbott-era slogans, we're in real trouble. (Pic: #memestream 2014)
“Whenever possible, support [workers.] Full-time, part-time, casual...with paid leave if they need to take time off during the course of the virus." #notmyPM advocates "radical" Labor and union-style IR reforms. Is he feverish?
Actually, by demanding business do more, he is privatising the response to the imminent recession. If it bites hard, he can say it was unpatriotic elements within "Team Australia" that let the side down.
But how do you keep someone in a job, paying them to stay home, when you can't get parts for your widgets, you can't meet orders, and no-one is paying you? Avoid blame, shift responsibility, deny everything: this is the Morrison modus operandi. #mettatorial
“We must remind ourselves that the problem is temporal, not structural. It’s about a biological contagion, not a financial one.” Does #notmyPM mean "temporal" as worldly, or time-related? Is he equating financial structures with spirituality, or is he saying they are timeless?
