1/6 Yesterday, the #Covid19 suspected or confirmed patients at RHUH reached a new high. They included a 2 year old patient, a pregnant patient that underwent a c-section, and 6 transfers from other hospitals. The PM announced the highest patient toll since the crisis began.
2/6 At RHUH, the main questions raised are: As the reference hospital, where are we now and what are our plans moving forward. I will answer these two questions in the following thread.
3/6 Where we are now: The current capacity of the #Covid19 section of RHUH is 128 beds/64 rooms, occupied by patients with mild to moderate infections. (Only high risk or unable to self-quarantine mild cases are hospitalized).
4/6 We have 12 ICU/Negative pressure rooms, a dedicated 25 bed #Covid19 Emergency room, a dedicated operating room, and a radiology section. We are currently functioning at 70% occupancy rate. Our testing center can process up to 200 tests daily.
5/6 What is our future plan: Increasing the bed capacity by 50%. Doubling the critical negative pressure beds to 24. Doubling the testing capacity. Increasing staff number and availability with new recruits and increasing dorm capacity.
6/6 The time frame to achieve this target is set at March 31st. We have achieved all the targets we set before, and we will do our best not to miss this deadline.
