This is hard/embarrassing for me to share, but on the off chance it helps someone else today: After a really productive and exciting last week of gathering resources for our community, pivoting the business to support them, I could barely get out of bed this morning.
(I have two toddlers, this was not an option.) And while I *do* deeply feel like the work we started last week is crucial to forward momentum for our industry (independent creators), I have to admit that today I probably can't be the one pushing forward. Today I need to pause.
And I'm INCREDIBLY lucky to have a team right now because we're all feeling this on different days and different times, so there is always someone able to move forward for our work.
And that's what we need right now: to be able to say to each other "Today I have the fire!" or "Today I need a break." If we can say that to each other, we allow the tired to restore and the energetic to keep the forward momentum. And...
In my circle I see a LOT of WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE QUARANTINE. And today I'm thinking: what if we just changed our relationship to productivity as the main driver of personal value.
That kind of thinking is what excludes people with disabilities even in the best of times. It's what drives founders to commit suicide even in the best of times.

So today I am going to see what it's like to not push through.
I'll be honest. I already feel sick to my stomach to think about who I might disappoint. Who might judge me. (And learning a LOT about just how much I am motivated by being terrified to let someone - ANYone - down.)
But the 24/7 nature of the fear, unease and uncertainty require breaking old habits.

Personally and, I hope, economically and socially.
While I still have the spare resources, I'm supporting a few more projects today: seedandspark.com/fund
